Prior to Trump 1.0 there were very little tariffs. Trump 1.0 caused an escalation of tariffs to about 60% of the goods getting 20% Tariffs which is about a 13% tariff rate, pretty even between the 2 countries, however ours were a little HIGHER. Then you can see the numbskull actions recently. It is all linked below and i even pasted in a picture for you to see.

TRUMP caused the tariffs he wants to get rid of... or does he want to get rid of them? We dont know.

Whew, glad to see you posting. I was concerned you might have been the person detained in the DHS thread.

Looks like this was already planned.
"In 2024, Hyundai Motor Group is significantly expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint with a $21 billion investment. This includes investing in existing facilities in Alabama and Georgia, building a new steel mill in Louisiana, and expanding production capacity to 1.2 million vehicles annually. The company aims to create 14,000 new direct full-time jobs in the U.S. by 2028."

Oh, like ... as in, I'm an undocumented immigrant? That's the joke?

Good one, I guess. Haha. Or do you prefer "LOL"?

Also, will moderators ever weigh in before a warning to let someone know if their post is considered insulting?

Specifically, is characterizing every single thing someone has ever written as vapid considered an insult? Want to respect the rules. Thanks in advance.

Let me get this straight. You think that a multibillion multinational corporation made a $21B investment decision in the 3 weeks Trump implemented unreasonable tariffs and in that time they designed a plan, got board approval, and announced the project?
Bwhahahaha. You are sooo cute. Lots of company experience I see.

My goal and intention is for the tone to improve. Fewer insults. I can't possibly list everything that would be an insult but what I do is send a note with most edits or deletions and sign it so a poster knows what was done and who did it. Then, if the poster doesn't understand, write back by PM, like you did, and I'll give specifics. As far as the tone and fewer insults, they're not necessary to make a point or discuss something a poster disagrees with. The warning points will be for obvious insults later, after a period of adjustment, or someone who refuses to stop insulting others. I hope that helped.

Trump (and Musk) can take credit for investments (or savings) that were already committed (or already happened). No problem. No need to let Biden take credit for a decision that was made on his watch.

It's hard to get overly excited about this. The U.S. does not have a monopoly (or near-monopoly) on LNG. Not like China has a near-monopoly on rare earth metals, cell phones, and computers, for example. China will buy LNG elsewhere, possibly driving up the price a little, and the U.S. will sell elsewhere, which may keep the price constant. There will just be a brief transition period while new contracts are worked out.

It's one of those artworks that you can't see what it is right away. Then, after a little while, you think a child may have scribbled and painted on an adult canvas by mistake. Then half the crowd around you insists that it's real art, but you won't notice how sophisticated it is until you get over a brief period of nausea that only lasts for about four years, and then you will have reached nirvana and have a longing for it that cannot be explained.

Cars starting to build up at Port of Baltimore, as car companies opt to store cars that were already being shipped before tariff. Some to avoid the tariffs. Others to create shortages as the tariffs hit and other companies stop shipments, allowing them to get higher prices then.

Basically, some companies are storing the cars on the bet that the tariffs will stay (allowing them to make more profit by increasing price) while other companies are storing cars on the bet that the tariffs won't stay (allowing them to dodge the tariffs).

    The loser either way? Consumers.

Port of Baltimore becomes car purgatory amid Trump's tariff turmoil

^ Does Trump's weird new impotence-packaged-as-sternness go over well with the MAGA people or something? "It better stop, NOW!" :)

It's so weird. But did they focus group that or something and determine that for MAGAs it's actually comforting and reassuring, like being spanked by their powerful Daddy?

What in the heck does "Boeing should default China" mean?

He is vaguely remembering the terminologies from when all his casinos went under, and when banks became angry about all the fraudulent loans he scammed them on.

But the MAGA faithful think that has actual meaning. They're proud of their accomplished businessman when he spouts businessy gibberish like that.

I’m assuming “Boeing should fault China” but who knows, not like the rest is coherent.

He's truly a child. Running around with his new toy - a hammer - thinking it can fix anything he wants to fix. Id he just smashes
I'm guessing he means "Boeing should default to being an afterthought"
