She probably either will, or already has, made large donations to his campaign or cryptocurrency. So MAGA voters won't care about this. Wait - have they ever cared about his blatant corruption?

Obviously, our government is now a kleptocracy.

Kleptocracy (from Greek κλέπτης kléptēs, "thief", or κλέπτω kléptō, "I steal", and -κρατία -kratía from κράτος krátos, "power, rule"), also referred to as thievocracy,[1][2] is a government whose corrupt leaders (kleptocrats) use political power to expropriate the wealth of the people and land they govern, typically by embezzling or misappropriating government funds at the expense of the wider population

So Trump can pardon someone for a state level crime?

Weird - who ever thought that if we elected a literal criminal, he'd use abuse the powers of the federal government for unlawful purposes ...... such as investigating political fundraising of the opposite party.

The corruption and criminality knows no bounds.

Trump takes executive action targeting ActBlue, the main Democratic fundraising platform

President Donald Trump signed an executive memorandum Thursday aimed at investigating ActBlue, the leading Democratic fundraising platform.

The memorandum directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to “investigate allegations regarding the unlawful use of online fundraising platforms to make 'straw' or 'dummy' contributions or foreign contributions to political candidates and committees, and to take appropriate action to enforce the law."

It specifically names ActBlue as an online fundraising platform being used "to improperly influence American elections."

I think they got her for wire fraud federally because she was taking donations from other states.

But was it done with an autopen? That's apparently the only criteria to determine if a pardon was bad.

Trump Pardoned Tax Cheat After Mother Attended $1 Million Dinner - The New York Times

Still, weeks went by and no pardon was forthcoming, even as Mr. Trump issued clemency grants to hundreds of other allies.

Then, Ms. Fago was invited to a $1-million-per-person fund-raising dinner last month that promised face-to-face access to Mr. Trump at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla.

Less than three weeks after she attended the dinner, Mr. Trump signed a full and unconditional pardon.

It came just in the nick of time for Mr. Walczak, sparing him from having to pay nearly $4.4 million in restitution and from reporting to prison for an 18-month sentence that had been handed down just 12 days earlier. A judge had justified the incarceration by declaring that there “is not a get-out-of-jail-free card” for the rich.

I think the government needs to take another look at presidential pardons. There is just no executive privilege that Trump won't abuse, is there? Might want to revisit Executive Orders, while they're at it.

Very interesting. So Trump took $1 million from this tax cheat in exchange for a pardon, which enabled said tax cheat to avoid paying the IRS $4.4 million.

So Trump's basically selling US assets for about 22% of their value ...... but pocketing the proceeds for himself.

Should be fun, no, that's the wrong word .... interesting, no, that's the wrong word ....... boring by now to see the Trump supporters scroll right past without a concern in the world about his shameless, ought-to-be-illegal grifting.

One thing I'm personally looking forward to is when Trump pockets all this fundraising money instead of using it to help fund Republicans after he leaves office because we all know that's what's going to happen. Will be funny to watch all the Republicans in disarray who were counting on that war chest to help them in a post-Trump world.

Before one of Trump's supporters mentions Joe Biden's pardon of Hunter, it should be noted that Hunter paid all of the taxes due plus interest and penalties and that in most cases taxpayers who voluntarily pay delinquent taxes aren't even criminally prosecuted.
