Picked up an offer from UF in late March. He will visit UF June 6th. If the name sounds familiar, it should. His father played for UF in the Meyer days and was known as the guy who signed before ever visiting. He was ranked as the # 1 safety in Indiana. Meyer called and offered, and he committed. Sr. injured himself on an interception return and transferred after he came back but down the depth chart.

Jr is a 3* DT with a nice offer list. He is 6'3 240. He has a 435 NR and the #1 DL in Indiana. One to watch and I'm not sure where he is in the pecking order.

Wow, that makes you feel old!

Dad never did anything. He transferred after a couple of years.

Respectfully those two arent even in the same zip code. When BN reels in back to back top 5 classes we can revisit...and I damn sure hope he does.

Sorry somebody needs to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc regardless of the landscape... Not quite sure why the landscape matters. Finishing 15th or 20th doesnt allow you claim someone is a great recruiter. At least show up once in the top 5 before you start comparing to Urban's recruiting. Urban had more 5 stars playing 2nd string in one season and on one side of the ball than BN has locked in since he has been here.

I’m not arguing that BN is a better recruiter …but just going by the rankings is a bit of an antiquated way of measuring these days. The portal muddies the waters. Montrell, Pearsall, Banks, Dyke, O’Cyrus etc certainly didn’t play like 3 stars. Procuring talent is just different now than 15 years ago. And I think this staff has done a good job working with it under the current circumstances.

Nobody said he was the best or “great” either. They said he was a “machine”, which to me implies effort. I do think this staff prioritizes recruiting and puts in the effort on the trail.
