Just something a little funky about it. I’ve heard a mix of sausage and bread crumbs gave it its uniqueness. Think it was the sausage I didn’t care for. I’d still eat there, just wouldn’t be my request. I don’t doubt I’m the only one you’ve heard say that as it was a well loved establishment.

Yeah, looked like they decided to tuck tail about as soon gators dockside announced it was moving in across the street. Bigger menu than dockside, but food at both places is meh. Run of the mill bar food.

It was different than any other burger I have ever had that is for sure. I am sure there were others like you that didn't care for them but I don't remember ever hearing anyone say so.

There was Shakeys Pizza out 13th street by Bivens Arm years ago that did a big business for years.

My dad knew the guy that ran the domino’s right there in the 90’s. Want to say he told me it was the highest volume store in the country for a time. May have just been “one of”, but still pretty crazy as it’s a pretty tiny little place.

Way back when, the word was lamb was involved. Too pricey for that these days. New Look magazine called it the best burger in town.

Started as a bakery on University Ave, moved downtown and then expanded. Loved that place.

Talking about places that were downtown and closed how about Cafe Espresso? If there ever was a business set up for laundering drug money that was the place.

Wine and Cheese Gallery served food and they were awesome. We held my wife's mid career law school graduation celebration there.

    Wade and Bunky became friends.

You know, talking about great Gainesville places to eat that are no longer here is way better than pissing off about visiting the White House.

    I 'member that place.
I don't have much to say about places to eat in Gainesville. I was a student with very little money, so I had to choose carefully. I did go to a pizza place on the southeast corner of University and 13th now and again, to get a slice for lunch cheaply. It had an Italian name... Lorenzo's? Antonio's? Something like that. And the Orange and Brew in the Reitz Union now and then. Occasionally to a place on the edge of the Student Ghetto, north of University...I think it was called Renaissance Square. Skeeter's for biscuits. Everything has changed so much.
I always lived within a few blocks of campus so I typically ate at home.

Leonardo’s is the pizza place. That is gone, as well as leonardo’s 706 that was a few blocks down University. They still have a Millhopper location.

It is under newer ownership, but it is still just as good as it was 35 years. They haven't changed the recipes at all that I can tell.

My pops loves it. Its the one he went to when he was in school. I grab lunch with him there once a month or so. One of the few places left from his era, not many from mine left either.
