The teams with the most money might have an inroad to a talented roster…..but basketball is SO MUCH MORE. It’s the ultimate team game, the ultimate pressure packed game when you have to convert buckets late, make stops late with pressure building…..the most talented players don’t always win. See Duke this year for even more proof. Coaching is HUGE in CBB, and we’ve got one of the best.

This is true … but Duke was also a blink away from winning it all. And we benefited hugely from NIL and did win it all. Maybe end of day nothing has really changed … the biggest programs always got the best talent and now it’s just a shift to richest programs. The richest programs probably have the most fans so maybe this has no effect on fandom. I guess I’m just wondering what it would have been like if Tebow had transferred to Alabama after ‘06. Would have been disheartening. End of day, players back in the day probably weren’t really loyal, they just had no choice but to stick around since transferring was so hard to do.
