Well that’s not unexpected.. Tech moguls invested in Greenland mining also gave Trump campaign $243m: report
*yawns* this precisely how elections work. Donors expect to be compensated for their material support.
Just saw a documentary about Dark Money episode focusing the 50 year siege waged by Evangelicals. the Catholic Church and the Federalist Society to overturn Roe V. Wade. Tons of money to influence elections and including bribing targeted SCOTUS members. I was unaware of the breadth and scope of the siege. At least a few Evangelical leaders are now having second thoughts about electing Trump as 47, but may not be able to put the Gennie back into the bottle.
And you apparently have no problem with donors buying politicians? Although it's always been true to some extent thanks to the Citizens United decision the US truly has the best politicians that money can be buy. Said is it before under Trump corruption is a feature not a bug.
Sure, they want, and need, what Greenland has to offer. Their mistake was funding Trump as their front man, the "great negotiator," the man who could Get Things Done! (Most of it within 24 hours of his inauguration!) Sadly for them, he's bollixed everything up with insane proposals and threats, winning the animosity of both Greenland and Denmark. Have any mineral rights been secured? None that I know of. Worst diplomat, negotiator, and leader EVER.
You go right ahead and disagree, bill, but the fact remains that Trump's donors have nothing to show for their Greenland contributions but the hostility of the people he was supposed to charm into welcoming America with open arms and mineral rights.
What deal? There is no deal. If Trump wants Greenland he's going to have to take it by force. And you'd be cheering him on every step of the way.
I think it's already played out. I think the animosity the Greenlanders have towards Trump is personal, and profound. And completely understandable. Trump played this one like a rank noob.
