:nods knowingly: Sully trains UF students to be baseball players. I train UF students to be engineers. We're both more old-school in our jobs than most of our peers. I got my worst teaching evals ever last Spring. "Jocks and brains" are different and his salary is about x10 mine... but I can empathize with him, since we're both caught in the same windstorm of change. (At least the top Gator engineering undergrads don't get NIL offers from FIU and UCF...)

 

I think the point being made is that 14 K in 8 innings is indicative of the issues that got the team into the hole they are trying to escape. 13 runs was amazing, but not sustainable, especially with crazy high strikeout numbers.

 

Probably true. But some people complain and find fault in all situations, win or lose. It gets old.

 

Seems like Petersen is getting a little better every outing. Hopefully King can keep the momentum going today. Bullpen is well rested also.

 

Agree - It was huge that Peterson completed 6 innings, Barlow & MacDonald only went an inning each and the game ended in 8.

 

Well to clarify I was very happy with the result but know that success in the sec is not sustainable with that many ks. I think if you look back I have a pretty consistent record of constructively pointing out areas for improvement while still providing positive encouragement. The thing I’m probably the most negative about with our team is Sully’s pitch sequence calling. So any way I’m gonna guess that was an in general comment and not a specifically me thing.
