The thousand year old Reich which lasted maybe 15 years. Much closer to home and much more recently during W's 2004 reelection campaign and after he was reelected Republicans were talking about a permanent Republican majority.

provide a candidate with a pulse and not tied to the far left through an open primary process.

not going to change the hate but there is a fat 40% in the middle that the dems chit on with border policies and focus on far-left causes like trans women in sports and never met an immigrant I didn't like. lost so much good trying to be perfect. arrogance

quit dying on stupid hills. like PETA opposing fishing. They lost my donation on that one.

I don’t really see the dems “focusing” on trans issues. It’s there. But it’s the right wing that keeps forcing it as an issue to crazy proportions. The fundamental issue is these people have constitutional rights same as anyone else. That’s it.

Simultaneously good politicking yet also morally bankrupt and evil.

how many new laws were passed and changes implemented to allow men, trans etc into female competition. it hurt the dems but they were too arrogant to read the room, same reason they got Kamala. the juice is not worth the squeeze. twice, against the worst candidate ever presented in the modern era, they forced an unpopular candidate through a zero primary process upon the voters. hint..it doesn't work..they need to own it but they will push the next dei /seniority candidate into line instead of letting a leader take charge, and the true leaders on the sidelines fear that.

I don’t know, but I’d assume many (if not all) were a result of stuff like that NC bathroom bill which aimed to criminalize people for using the wrong bathroom. I don’t think any federal laws should be passed either way to regulate bathrooms or individual sports rules. But hey, I’m one of those old “socially liberal, fiscal conservatives” that believes in free trade and civil rights. 30 years ago lot of people used to fall in this camp. Where’d they all go? o_O

DOGE wipes $900MM off the savings list.

Nearly $1 billion of DOGE ‘savings’ vanish overnight

Exactly. Dems have to understand this.

I disagree on several points. The Democrats did not miss on the message, they were destroyed on messaging. With Twitter owned by an Apartheid loving fascist, the information control, ie propaganda and brain washing was staggering this past cycle. Just like in Nazi Germany, scream lies loudly enough and often enough, they become the truth. Even those people who pretend that they are moderates or objective.

The whole border non-sense is a perfect example. By 2024, border encounters had dropped 83% and were well, well below those observed during the Trump or Obama years. Yet, due to incompetent messaging, that story never got out. Worse, that incompetent racist Holman then two months into his job took credit for "closing the border" that was already largely closed down by the Biden administration after the executive order in June 2024. Sadly, the only ones who understand and accurately documented the whole border situation, including why the very same anti-immigrant Repubs were desperate for immigrant labor, was the Libertarian Leaning Cato Institute. Sadly, Dems were too arrogant to use their research and message the situation properly.

    Border crossing data:

Migrant encounters at U.S.-Mexico border have fallen sharply in 2024

Certainly doesnt sound like a good thing but not enough details are provided. Would be interesting in understanding if the systems being accessed were fully patched. Would like to see forensics on the system to see how passwords were obtained. I suspect the system was already compromised and anyone who logged in would have had their credentials stolen. Just happened to be the DOGE people. Perhaps they unknowingly compromised the systems because, from what I’ve heard, they’re “security hygiene” was less than desirable.

or they intentionally compromised the systems to allow for continued monitoring after download of the current material..

the point is they broke multiple laws in the process, laws that would put you in prison, and have compromised and weakened us all
