If you truly believe the people you vote for are unable to think of ways to slow down mass shootings, then here’s an idea…. Vote for different people…
The shooter is Phoenix Ikner, a 20 year old FSU student, the son of a Leon County Sheriff’s deputy, and a member of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office’s youth advisory board. One of the weapons found on the scene was one of the deputy’s weapons, and they are investigating how he had access to it, how it was used, and what other weapons were used. He is currently in medical custody at the hospital.
Shooter did not comply with law enforcement commands and was shot by officers. The weapon is a former duty handgun that the deputy elected to purchase when the Sheriff’s Office replaced its duty sidearms. Law enforcement knows he also had a shotgun with him but are not aware at this time of anyone being shot with the shotgun.
Well that's what I get for assuming the gender of the officer. Lock her up. I fully realize that he could have legally purchased a different weapon, but thanks to his parents he didn't need to.
There are some social media postings that indicate the shooter attended anti-Israel and anti-trump protests
Appears to be the latter. The former was people spelling phonetically based on how it was pronounced in the press conference
Just another day in gun violent America. This is the part where righties push for mandatory bulletproof vests for all students in the state of Florida.
You're talking about politicians who take money from the gun lobby. Then do nothing to fix the problem actively prevent anything from being done to fix the problem. Then they lie about having thoughts for, or praying for, the victims. These people are hypocrites who ensure that the gun violence continues. They deserve more than just derision for their fake thoughts and non-existent prayers.
The shooter took the legally owned handgun of his sheriff mother, which he was too young to legally purchase, into a gun free zone and committed multiple murders and other felonies. What gun law would have prevented this?
We can just copy and paste every time there is a mass shooting as all the posts are essentially the same from all sides. Even if not intended as such the TnP phrase comes of a disingenuous shrug as we move on, forget about this event, until the next one, and the one after that.
