It's not about politics. It's about human decency. As I said, I don't use the phrase. I'm not all that religious personally. But I'm sure as hell not going to mock someone else for it in the face of a more serious situation regardless of their intentions.
looks like we were averaging about 5 mass shootings per year prior to 2004, and about 20 per year since….
It’s about the increase of guns combined with the decline of mental health care in the US. That’s something we should hold politicians accountable for. You can give them a pass id you like,
It is when they say the same shit over and over again. The ones taking gun money are the worst. You know damn well they aren’t praying for anything except more $$$. At least this incident was ended quickly. Only 5 injured? Either it was lucky or super fast law enforcement response (or a bit of both).
Again, mocking the phrase is not about politics. You want to talk gun control and mental health care, fine. I actually somewhat agree with you on the need for reform on both. But again, not about to mock someone for showing some empathy in the face of a tragedy.
Now you're just getting greedy. Trying to use mass shootings as an argument against the second amendment AND for socialized medicine?
This has been going for years… first time you read Ts&Ps from congressmen, nobody cared … 15 years later and it’s the same shit… I’m fine with mocking it. Oh, and let’s add “it’s too soon to debate it” and “you’re just trying to capitalize on a tragedy” to the list.
The most famous one, probably: Charles Starkweather - Wikipedia (they made a movie about this one with Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek, its pretty good) And here's a whole list of spree killers: List of rampage killers in the United States - Wikipedia
Yeah, instead of talking about solutions we should just post “Ts&Ps” and forget about it by tomorrow…. The Republican strategy….
Sure, nothing like today. Bitter young man exacts his revenge on others with a gun & killing spree. Nothing like now.
Will be interesting to see if this was planned to try to take advantage of other events today. TPD had posted an alert yesterday advising people that their tactical units would be conducting a training exercise today from noon to 8 PM. While the location was obviously different (closer to FAMU’s campus than FSU’s), the advisory said residents “may hear loud bangs, crashes, sirens, and see officers with firearms displayed,” and would also suggest that the tactical unit was likely to be at that training when this occurred.
I've seen more posters talk about solutions here than any Republican and most Democratic politicians I can think of.
Law enforcement press conference now. Two deceased, they are not believed to be FSU students. Five injured. The suspected shooter is believed to be a current FSU student.
