Yep. This was all about evaluation and development. That's plain a as day, and yet CTG was snubbed for COTY.
I think that we have beaten this to death. Chances are that the post-season wasn't taken into account, and if you take away the post-season, TG is not a contender for coach of the year honors.
We have yet (still!) to take a multiple-time transfer, with the exception of Rishwain (who had already played for Golden, so was in effect following his coach). I take that as part of the staff's strategy to avoid NIL bidding wars or kids entering the portal primarily to get raises on the open market. We'll see if that's an axiom or just a coincidence, but, besides Rishwain, all 13 transfers in have come from their first school.
Definitely worth a feeler IMO. Lee, Aberdeen and Hagerty would be a dynamic trio of guards with as much potential as any backcourt in the country.
I think Auburn picked up Keyshawn Murphy from MSU. That is a big pick-up. I liked what I saw from him this year. He kept MSU in a lot of games all by himself.
I heard Zakai Zeigler was petitioning for an extra year and planning to hit the portal. Apparently his feelings were permanently damaged during the sec championship game and he’s no longer emotionally capable of moving on with his life after college. Will and Alijah won’t be around next year so he thinks he will be able to possibly recover if allowed to return.
I really don't understand the concept behind these guys petitioning for another year. Did they not graduate? Ziegler has played 4 full seasons. Why should he get another year at this point? If graduated, couldn't he play another as a grad transfer without a waiver?
