By: Nick Marcinko -- April 16, 2025 Todd Golden’s Florida Gators landed their first commitment from the transfer portal just nine days after winning the 2025 National Championship. Princeton’s Xaivian Lee, a 6’4, 180-pound guard from Toronto, Canada, pledged to Florida on Wednesday evening via social media. Lee took visits with St. John’s, Kansas, and Florida before ultimately deciding on the Gators for his senior season. Lee ranked as one of the top prospects in the portal and will have one year of eligibility remaining. Princeton guard Xaivian Lee commits to Florida | GatorCountry.com
It is very unique to Todd Golden that I could care less what our recruits ranking is and have total faith in the fact that if we are going after him he will fit in and be productive. Not that Xaivian Lee isn’t highly regarded, it just weird that it doesn’t matter to me.
Thought the same. Nice to have total Billy like trust in a coach again. Maybe even more from an analytic view? I don’t know if that really good analysis article written by GC is stuck in my noggen.
Are you saying there is a Gator basketball fan who doesn't care about the recruiting rankings of a player as long as the coach believes they are a great fit for his program? Is this correct? What does THAT mean? I don't really know, but I have to think it is kind of like this: Not sure I am emotionally prepared for this kind of news...
