I feel bad for Keagan’s struggle, and can only wonder how her injury has affected her pitching. Her pitches do seem to be flatter and therefore more predictable to the hitter. Her location has been off as well. I cant tell from the TV view if she’s still spinning the ball like she used to do, but that could explain what she’s had to alter due to her injury. Velocity still close to her Freshman year, but her endurance might be less. Hoping our Ace can return to her past form, and our Gators can take the series against Bama!
I heard them say they b ere trying to get her spin rates back to what they were. I don't remember if it was on broadcast or the radio. She may jsut not be capable of it this year but I don't think she's going down without a fight.
For anyone who cares, my brother, UFGTR77 and I, ufgator72sb are going to be at this Series. See ya in the Grove! Ed and Phil, respectively, are our first names.
Why so the coaches not see Keagan doesn't have her stuff, either in practice or warmup before the lineup is due? If tge common thought here is she is healthy enough but needs game time and confidence I wouldn't recommend being a Friday starter in the SEC to accomplish that. Maybe Tuesday and Wednesday games are what she needs to get the rhythm back. We did fairly well without her to start the SEC schedule given the teams we played. These last few performances are not good for confidence building. The only good things I see is that Miller may actually be able to contribute meaningful innings and IF Keagan gets on track there probably aren't any other teams with the potential to drastically improve like Florida....just hope they don't play themselves into 12 seed or worse waiting for that to happen.
Liv is an enigma. I thought she’d earned more pt last year and definitely expected to see more of her this year. Especially in the early season. Strangely enough, my phone never rings when these decisions are being made though.
Maybe she's looking good in practice and it isn't carrying over. We didn’t have a midweek so they probably wanted to get her back out there. Will be curious to see if she throws again this weekend. My guess is no unless we really get in a pinch
After the first inning, I didn't watch till the 7th. So, just curious, how is the change at SS working out? I only saw the dropped throw on the first inning Bama steal attempt. Deja Vu I guess. An out would have been a nice momentum boost for the Gators.
Gabi has some real pop out there. Her operation and throw to first are a little better than Holtorf and she's quicker to the ball. The ball she dropped at 2nd in the 1st was a bad throw from Jocey by her standard; high and to the 3B side.
Would you agree: 1. We can’t win WCWS without a sound Rothrock. 2. Without out an outstanding finish (possibly win 6 of remaining games plus a good SEC tournament) we will not get a national seed. 3. We are at risk of not hosting a regional if we finish SEC play poorly and a bad tournament. I think the coaches must believe Rothrock is close and will continue to use her even if she has some bad outings. If she comes around soon it could help us in the remaining games and SEC tournament. If she doesn’t we probably aren’t any worse off. We will still be in the field and a chance to make the WCWS. A note on unearned runs allowed: After last nights game, based 16 games of SEC play, I project we will end up 2025 with 128 runs allowed with 30 unearned. In 2024 we had 105 total runs with 12 unearned. This translates to 1.25 runs per game this year vs. .5 runs last year.
Guessing you either meant "can't win WCWS without a sound Rothrock" or "can win WCWS with a sound Rothrock"
The throw was right on the bag and Gabi dropped it moving quickly to make the tag. She doesn't drop it...Vandagraff is out easily.
What do we read into Brown starting and Red coming in as reliever. Is Rothrock okay or were we trying to save Red for Saturday?
I think we really needed to win today and they went with what they felt was the best option. Red only faced a few batters so she certainly is good for tomorrow either as starter or relief
