I was embarrassed for Scott Strcklin at the O&B game. He took a chance hiring Golden and 3 years into his tenure he wins the championship in the toughest conference in the country then tops it off with a National Championship. The disrespect shown him at the ceremony to celebrate that Natty is astounding to this Gator.
There is not a ton of patience these days. Booing him at the celebration for a Natty was a bit much IMHO. Regarding Napier, we don't know yet. But after the last years run and toss in the group of playmakers he has secured for this year, things would appear to be looking up. Big time!! Some of the other programs are a little bit off. Gymnastics needs to get back on top. Baseball, what the heck? At this stage of my life I'm trying to have realistic expectations. (whatever that means). I suppose having expectations is part of the problem. Eventually, I'd like to get back in Gainesville to retire, (that is, before I simply faceplant from geezerdom) Go to baseball games, football games and basketball games and be grateful. Unrelated note: Went to the Sphere in Vegas to see the Eagles. Holy crap. No words can describe. Go Gators.
This is such an important year for the football program. Napier must win 9 games or more or there is going to be a huge problem with the fan base. Fair or not, Florida will always be primarily a football school. With the resources given, I think that’s a fair ask in year 4.
I agree. Really wish the assholes in the crowd hadn’t stained the championship celebration with such boorish behavior. And I was there.
My brother and I walked by him and his family at the national championship game. It was obvious we knew who he was and he had a look on his face like ‘please don’t say anything’. He seemed almost relieved when we just said ‘go gators!’
in the event Lagway does not play and we win eight games, I think that would be miraculous and he will have done a hell of a job
Losing your starting QB is a problem for any team: especially one who has so much potential. I don’t think the coaches or the team will throw in the towel if, God forbid, DJ is unable to play. This staff has amassed a lot of talent and the mindset will be next man up. Make no mistake about it I would hate to lose Lagway. But to suggest the team will fall apart if we lose him is a bit much. I don’t see evidence that we are in any danger of not having DJ next year anyway. CBN being cautious and some fans reading more into it than is. IMO.
Maybe, maybe not. Napier wins 7+ without Lagway, he's good and we wait and see how the next season goes because as a difference maker, easy for we and the Admin to believe it would have been 9 or 10 with him. 6 or fewer without Lagway and I think BN has a problem.
I’m not suggesting we throw in the towel but our schedule is unforgiving. We saw what happened with no DJ against Texas. For the kind of season most fans want, he has to play.
