Transfer Portal: Xaivian Lee sets visit with Florida basketball

 

Donning my orange & blue glasses, I think he signs with the Gators.
Even if he doesn't, he's got us at the top with St. Johns (and possibly Kansas, depending on which articles you read), and that means he has the Gators already winning the recruiting battle ahead of Kentucky, Duke, and UNC. One site says he plans to also go through the NBA evaluation process, regardless.
Also of note: he's posted two triple-doubles in his career. On March 8, he put up 23 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds against Penn.

 

I want to believe he is using his God-given brain that got him into Princeton. It is just that my Gators "WTH" radar has other ideas about the "process".

It just seems to me, if Clayton chose us and not St Johns, and we just won a NC with the kind of player he is and Pitino lost his Round of 32 game against his pretty big rival as a 2nd seed, what is the reason for the pause?

Okay, I will try to split the difference. "Hey coach, congrats on your extension. It must be nice being so wanted that the infrastructure can grow with success."

 

Pitino's pitch: "I hear you're down to just a couple of schools. There's no way anyone can offer you more success than we can here. What's that? You're also considering where? Oh..."

 

He'd have to be the dumbest smart guy to not choose UF

 

Besides his being Haugh's teammate at Perkiomen, in a YouTube I was watching about Xaivian Lee, I saw where he played for a while on this Canadian U-18 or something team. They showed a team photo. There in the back row, absolutely dwarfing everyone, was Ollie Rioux.

 

The signs are there.

 

I suppose nearness to home might be a factor at St. John's. And if he's catholic.

Hopefully he's not basing his decision in how much nil he can get, but mostly in how CTG can help turn him into à first round pick.
I know Pitino is a hall of fame coach, but CTG is young, very progressive and proved that he can coach. Plus, he will probably get more exposure playing with defending champs.

 

That would be good news.
