Generalization based on the profile of this particular case. Tell me Cecil Newton wouldn't be doing the same thing in this day and age.
Completely agree. I thought the same as well. My point being that all of this can't be laid out on Nico or some of the other players A lot of pressure coming from the family.
I refuse to believe anything but this. At least I HOPE it is this: The universities that run major college sports wrote a sizable check to the Ia____a family in order for their son to act all sanctimonious so that the fence-sitters like Auburn and Old Miss decide that the new game needs serious remediation. It is all about consensus building. But still, it all ends with a players union...
'Zero interest,' 'zero market': What does Nico Iamaleava's future hold after his Tennessee exit? Not much interest in him.
I originally had the same thought, but my parents were definitely still “parenting” at that age. Quite unsuccessfully, but they were trying. They would have never put me in a situation like this though.
Some don't understand that the fathers of these athletes have been making decisions for the players all their lives, that's all most of these kids know. Add to this particular situation, the dad is also a coach and the dynamics/traditions of the culture.
you and I come from a different generation. This current one has been helicopter parented from birth and we see it into what should be their adulthood.
He and i would would butt heads if i was his kid. I know me and mine did. Once they figured out i had my own mind, things were fine.
from the article I posted in post 127: The father is running the show. Plus I believe most NIL rules/laws require the player to have representation, they can't directly do any negotiations.
I graduated, had a full time job, was moved out and on my own half way through my senior year of hs. My parents still tried. If I had a million dollar opportunity, I still have a hard time believing my parents would not have had any influence over what was going on. Even as independent as I was. My first thought was the same as yours. Grow a set, you’re a man. But I also can come to terms with the fact that, even as independent as I was, my parents probably would have been heavily involved in something like this.
Id listen no doubt but i would never have what happened to that kid. Me and my dad would have problems.
Im thinking my dad would've probably kicked me square in my as and told me to get to practice but he wouldnt have had to by that point.
Soooo, UT doesn’t have a half way decent scholarship QB on the roster? They have to rely on a spring+ transfer to come in and just learn everything that a guy already on the team should know? Getting NFL like more and more. Losing a starter QB is almost a season killah. I can’t wait until the Gators beat their ass.
