Why don’t Democrats support deporting illegals and giving them a stiff fine?

And why do some Republicans hire illegals while demanding their deportation?

By the way anyone notice that under Trump's mass deportation effort virtually no workers at meatpacking plants or in agriculture have been deported?

Please tell me more about this "consistency" you speak of:

I know. The evil bastard is picking on murderers, rapists, and drug and human traffickers. But be of good cheer, for the stunning, brave Judge Boarshead won't let him get away with it.

LOL. Not going to deport everyone, after all? :)

"We're going to work with farmers that, if they have strong recommendations for their farms, for certain people, that we're going to let them stay in for a while and work with the farmers and then come back and go through a process, a legal process. We have to take care of our farmers and hotels and various places where they need the people," Trump said.

"A farmer will come in with a letter concerning certain people saying, they're great, they're working hard, we're going to slow it down a little bit for them and then we're going to ultimately bring them back. They'll go out, they're going to come back as legal workers," he said.

I generally don’t support deporting illegals in this country that are established here, law abiding and productive. Also many of these “illegals” are here legally.

The labor market is thin and our base resident population growth will not by itself support economic growth.

I am fine with deporting illegals who have engaged in criminal activity since being here, and I am not against deporting illegals at the time they enter the country illegally. I also think the border needs to be controlled and you can’t have millions coming in Willy nilly.

So lets go ahead and look at that claim.

Out of 238 migrants sent to the mega-prison, it appears about a dozen have murder, assault, kidnapping, or rape convictions. So it appears that somewhere around 5% of the people sent there have such a violent conviction and probably should be in a prison somewhere, at least.

It appears another about 17% have a non-violent offense, such as shoplifting, theft, or trespassing.

A few have outstanding charges of some form.

The remaining 3/4 of the detainees have no criminal record. No active charges and no convictions.

It is interesting how the government can't provide sufficient evidence to bring charges against these people, but are claiming that they just know that they are people from your list of violent criminals. It is also interesting that you are claiming that is the focus, given the low percentage of folks with actual evidence that arises to the point of charges or conviction.

Why do you think that is the concentration given the very high numbers of folks with no criminal charges or convictions that have now been sent to a foreign mega-prison with no due process and, according to the government, no ability to leave such a place, despite a lack of charges or convictions? Do you think that people should be sent to a foreign prison without a conviction for an actual crime?

U.S. sent 238 migrants to Salvadoran mega-prison; documents indicate most have no apparent criminal records
