Absolutely! No doubt! Would not argue with either of these points. I was just pointing out the irony of UGA winning in the last matchup and us winning the Natty as covered by whippedpuppy.
Basketball is fickle. As good as UF was, they had some close calls, particularly USCe. A very narrow escape. The UGA loss was quad 1 (I think). Tough to be perfect every night especially on the road. My own impression was the Gators were a work in progress that got better, and better and better. I think UF closed out 17-1 or something fantastic like that. Gators peaked in the SEC tournament, it was clear to me that the Gators, and coach Golden and staff, really learned from experience in the SEC regular season match ups. Dominated in the SEC tourney, amazing performances. The NCAA tourney was different, new teams, different and new match-ups. Clearly it was tougher but the staff and team adjusted time and time again. What a great year. More total wins in a season than either the fabled 06 or 07 squads. Matched only by Patric's 2014 squad (36). Of course this year, brought the crown back. The 14 squad still has the glory of the 30 game win streak.
Well done - Great cover of a huge UF championship. Love the ESPN "Why would Florida do this?" That about sums up the national media coverage.
