    Right here
Tariffs would be the most obvious example.

“For example, the supporters of tariffs treat it as self-evident that the creation of jobs is a desirable end, in and of itself, regardless of what the persons employed do. That is clearly wrong. If all we want are jobs, we can create any number--for example, have people dig holes and then fill them up again, or perform other useless tasks. Work is sometimes its own reward. Mostly, however, it is the price we pay to get the things we want. Our real objective is not just jobs but productive jobs--jobs that will mean more goods and services to consume.”

I beat you to your point on tariffs on the previous page in that I don't like tariffs as a general rule but I think the US should be able to manifacture certain products for national security and other reasons. Some products from other countries should be banned outright.

Example: China has supplied the US with transformers that China can shut down with electrical signals, taking out much of our power grid. Trump stopped this, Biden enabled it. China got their money's worth from Biden. China also has sold industrial components to the US that can shut down manufacturing facilities.

One good thing about free trade is it helps prevent monopolies in our country.

If the US needs a strategic reserve of transformers, just fund it like we do with other products like sugar. I still don’t love the money flowing to sugar, but taxing foreign goods, and raising prices on all us, in a hope that these sectors just decide to pop up by themselves is an extremely wasteful and destructive approach to solve this problem.

So spending as a percent of gdp usually does better under a Democratic president. Employment too. Drug deaths were up under Trump, down under Biden
And the point of this is that the Democrats have no solutions to anything?

If anything, He responded to the person that changed the subject, but even then I think both posts are on subject

I think spending is best controlled by gridlock.

You asked about employment. Is there a reason that unemployment is consistently lower when Democrats are in the White House?

If you extrapolate everything the Dems stand and are currently advocation for... the only logical conclusion a rational person can come up with is that they want to completely destroy our entire nation (including the Constitution) and attempt a commie reboot.

Of course if they do succeed in tearing it down they will blame Capicalism, or free (regualted) trade as the reason for it's "falure".

I have to give it to Trump though. He single-handedly kept diaper manufacturers in business
