FEMA Denies N Carolina Request for 100% Reimbursement Extension

    This would be an unprecedented request, but it does highlight a major issue. The damage and destruction in Western NC and Eastern Tenn was truly unprecedented for this area of the country. Disaster funds in NC and Tenn were woefully underfunded for such an event. Six months later people are still homeless, still waiting for massive amounts of debris to be cleared and still are struggling just to exist.

    The only funds large enough to make a positive impact are reserved at the federal level. And, to be clear, this request is not the termination of any and all FEMA assistance, just eliminates reimbursement for some of the most expensive parts of the rebuilding process.

    During the election, Trump and his army of lying co-conspirators like Elon Apartheid put out tons of stories about how these people were being ignored by Washington DC, well, now they really are. Will interesting if this changes the minds of those people out there in evaluating their Orange-god.

    MAGA: “Those RINOs should just shut up and take their pain. We are tired of supporting them and providing aid for those people. What do we/ I get out of it?”

    Trump: “I’ve done more for these people than any other President in history, probably even more, maybe sometimes less, but more, maybe the most ever! I am tired of these people ripping us off! Do you know that they are ripping us off? Those people are ripping us off! I’m the only President to tell them no more! They could have negotiated with me, they could have prevented the disaster by negotiating with the storm. And, nobody said thank you, you know? Not one thank you? Do you know thanks? They can go eat the dogs, they can eat the cats!”

    Not to defend Trump's FEMA but its hardly an emergency right now. We are mostly down to the Federal government repairing I-40 and then all the unfortunate uninsured folks who sadly have no money to rebuild. Not sure what the answer is for them.
