(SB) OGT: UF @ Ole Miss Game 2 April 12, 2025, 3 pm SEC +

Dare I believe the offense is beginning to get revved up? Also it’s dinner time so what kid gets what color? Gotta keep the mojo going!

 

Well, once again I am watching the game in replay (to explain my tardy posts). I knew UF's defense got off to a rough start this year (per UF standards), but I thought the chemistry would improve and right the ship. But after watching the 1st inning today I see I must bite the bullet and acknowledge we are a poor fielding team - no excuses.

 

Finally!! A home run with runners on base!!

 

Shumaker is such an advanced hitter, she's already into her sophomore slump.

 

Watching Cahalan throw out Malven with a rope in the 2nd inning (twice). Gosh I envy the arms of some of these girls. I can barely throw the ball on the fly base-to-base in my softball league.

 

Neither my arm or legs are what they used to be. They say speed doesn’t slump but it definitely ages lol. I hit a solid shot to right center gap in my softball league and didn’t hesitate going to second…thrown out by a mile lol.

Tomorrow is pancake Sunday so not my breakfast duty day. However I will nevertheless enforce the new color coding rules of plastic ware for the littles. Sip my coffee and make the best out of the chaos.

 

Yes, this has the feel of a sacrificial lamb. That's sad when she clearly had a physical issue for a few innings. So much for the team concept. I wouldn't blame Binford for having sour grapes.

 

Ava pitched her best game this year. She made quality pitches when she needed to. Ole Miss only had one earned run. They did not barrel up many balls. Most hit balls were on the ground or pop ups. Ava also had 4 strikeouts, only 2 Walks and no HBPs. She scattered 9 singles (mostly seeing eye hits) and gave up only 1 extra base hit, a double. It was a solid outing.

 

Great to see Brown with the complete game win. Ole Miss is a good hitting team and she effectively worked around some base runners. Much needed.

 

Yep...that rule obviously has a big fkaw...take the ball to get an out...that needs fixing

 

Very happy taking the first two of this series. Was worried for awhile with the way the offense had been hitting. Ole miss is no slouch at all. Lets go get the sweep tomorrow.
