UcheaT spent a lot to get Gillespie for MBB. Once they open the door with this under-performer, every skill player on their team will suddenly demand a "contract re-negotiation." This (no re-negotiation and no bidding war) is the approach Coach Napier has taken all along and some bashed it while now praising UcheaT for arriving late to the party. Edit: I'm not singling-out anyone in this thread . . . just the overall consensus.
Saw the update he is no longer with TN! Love it! What an idiot! Greed is what it is, I hope the kid never takes the field anywhere again, unless he is on a mower.
You are correct. I would be surprised if he would get a lot of teammate support if he stays. Unless, he uses his NIL to buy them cars.
I went to see what was being said and apparently the UcheaT message board is either overloaded or taken offline. Here's the UcheaT homer: Tennessee football has no choice except to pay up for Nico Iamaleava Didn't age well. Tennessee Moving On From QB Nico Iamaleava After NIL Standoff, Missed Meetings Fuel Transfer Portal Speculation Nico Iamaleava's Tennessee career over after NIL dispute, holdout
Makes me wonder . . . what QB from what program will UcheaT now poach to fill the huge hole on their roster?
ESPN is saying he's going to enter the transfer portal. Just so stupid. Take your 2 million, play football, and enjoy college.
Depends on how it turns out. If he gets three million and still plays football and enjoys college then how stupid is it really?
It wasn't this way until the last few decades. Unsurprisingly, it seems to coincide with when social norms and morals that were the same for hundreds of years just disappeared as well as when people stopped caring about quality products and started caring about more 'cool' stuff. What you get is a lower quality professional league that's setup to score lots of shiny points and appeal to advertisers rather than an athletic event made to appeal to sports fans. Since there are more fans of quick dopamine hits and sports gambling than there are of football, basketball or baseball all sports will start to assume the NBA model of points, points and more points, famous names who can do no wrong, no defenses and stoppage time only for commercials.
idk what the numbers are, the point was that if he can get the equivalent of 10+ years salary for normal people by transferring it's not that crazy.
Who does Cignetti and Indiana have at QB next season? Seems taylor-made. Not a big fan of Nico, though. He was inaccurate and had happy feet. Was hoping he would there. Better for us.
