30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rate Drops for 3rd Consecutive Week: Freddie Mac | The Epoch Times

The average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage continued its downward trend, registering a weekly average of 6.62 percent as of April 10.

According to Freddie Mac’s mortgage tracker, the rate has remained under 7 percent for the 12th consecutive week, and has shown a declining trend for the past three weeks. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage is at 5.82 percent, staying the same as last week.
“As purchase applications continue to climb, the spring homebuying season is shaping up to look more favorable than last year,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s Chief Economist.

The Refinance Index increased 35 percent from the previous week and was 93 percent higher than the same week one year ago, said the statement.

That's a great trend; this will help a lot of home buyers and those who have high rates under the Biden administration

Not really. Most recent I report on mortgage rates that I could locate.
Mortgage Rates Hold On to Dramatic 3-Day Surge - Apr. 11, 2025
After shooting up for three consecutive days, the 30-year mortgage rate average marched in place at 7.06% Thursday—its highest level since mid-January. Rates were roughly flat for most other mortgage types as well.

Edit: Apparently someone lives in a different reality. Maybe the rate is still under 7% if one is a believer in alternative facts.

How does that change the fact that mortgage rates surged above 7%?

Somehow, pointing out the fact that mortgage rates are north of 7 directly equals celebrating that rate.

There's no way people are that stupid, right? So what is it? (Rhetoric)
