Felt like a successful midweek. Gators played pretty well -- well enough to comfortably beat a team they should. Lots of empty seats in the stadium.

 

Steve mentioned it on the radio, but Missouri hasn't been awful offensively. Just pitching. So to me, don't take too much away from the fact that we scored 11 against them (they've given up 11+ 4 other times in SEC play), but appreciate that we held them to 2 runs. Tied for 2nd lowest output in an SEC game (lost 7-1 to Texas, lost 16-2 to Arkansas). Regardless, anything positive is something to build on at this point, and they were surprisingly low key about the lack of triples allowed in tonight's game in the postgame radio interview.

Dominant win. Solid pitching and great hitting. One game at a time and they can crawl back into this thing.

 

I was at the game in my usual seat so I got a great view of the pitches.

I have some criticisms but don't want to harsh the mellow of winning an opening SEC series game.

My son's theory that The Godz demanded a sacrifice to get our hoops team a National Championship and the baseball team was put on the altar.

They haven't lost since Monday night's Natty...his theory may have legs!
