In Trump's America jobs are so plentiful that more people than ever are working two or more of them at a time. This is higher than any other time since we started tracking in 1994. Higher than the great recession.

I am so tired of all the winning! I remember how much the right was concerned about the lower numbers under Biden so I cant imagine the pain they are feeling now about the economy.

Multiple jobholder rates are the highest they’ve been since the Great Recession - Sherwood News

For more and more US adults in the current economy, it seems like one job is just no longer enough.

According to Friday’s job report, the number of multiple jobholders in the US surged to a record 8.9 million in February, the highest since data tracking began in 1994. That’s 5.4% of all employed workers — a level last seen in April 2009.

i would arg it is not all else equal...seems easier to work a 2nd job now. I am very jealous of my colleague whose 3 sons own a brewery. John gets to work there whenever he wants. seems fun.

And last time, Florida was much worse than national average. Think we'll be able to get accurate statistics out of DeSantis' administration?

Looks like the best time for tax cuts on the American workers.

Like seamstresses and cobblers? That is what we import. Shoes and clothing.

Lol... We need to work with countries that we can trust to make shoes and not use the proifits to staart making military hardware... WMD.

So, the answer is we need to let the real developing countries (not named China) make the shoes and clothing while we bring back all the high end machinery... technology... AI and other high end sciences back to the U.S.A.

If I recall it's been less than a year since critics of the elderly supposedly cognitively diminished former president were saying that the then high number of Americans with multiple jobs was an indicator of the failure of his economic policies. Considering that the number has increased since the candidate that they presumably helped elect took office I wonder if they still hold the position the number of American workers with multiple jobs is an indication of the failure of the economic policy of the POTUS.

Do you realize that most more technological advanced machinery, like cars, iPhones, chips, etc are part of manufacturing ecosystems that involve multiple countries, and moving the whole ecosystem to the US, would take more than a decade and drive up prices?

What does it mean when a poster presented with an unassailable fact responds with a laughing GIF? Do they think it makes them look smart? It doesn’t.

China doesnt make clothing anymore. That has all moved to Cambodia, Vietnam, and India. Shoes have a lot of hardware needed to make and those are still in China. However, Trump put Tariffs on all of them indiscriminately. The only reason he escalated China was they responded with tariffs. He hasnt talked about being strategic. He's talked about evening out trade imbalances regardless of country or penguin refuge.

If he wanted to go at China he should have lined up the world like Biden did for Ukraine. I feel like you kind of know all that but feel like sticking up for Trump. All good.

So get ready for shoes to get very expensive unless Trump backs down again. I saw where the majority of shoes sold in the US are made in China.

More jobs working from home available these days. So a second job may be easier to work.

I wish those were available when I was at the FD as I worked a part time job most of my career. Sometimes 2 but not at 20 hours each on top of my full time job.
