China could again be playing the long game.
    Is China dumping U.S. Treasuries?
While the stock market is apparently having its best day in five years the bond market is tanking. Anyone think that China may be dumping its holding of US treasury securities?
U.S. Treasury Bonds Sell Off as 30-Year Yield Rises Most Since 1982
The selloff in U.S. government bonds gathered speed on Wednesday, with the 30-year Treasury yield set to rise the most in more than 40 years as a paradigm shift in trade policy upends the bond market.

Yields on the 30-year government debt were up 0.144 percentage point to 4.858% on Wednesday morning, putting them on pace to gain 0.467 point over a three-day period. If the market closes at current levels, it would be the largest three-day gain since January 1982.

Higher yields mean bond prices are declining, which isn’t typically what happens when stocks are selling off—investors generally buy U.S. Treasuries, considered the safest debt, in times of uncertainty. But despite the turmoil in the financial markets triggered by tariffs, Treasuries have been dumped, particularly those with long durations.

What this means in practical terms. One example.
Mortgage Rates Surge to Highest Levels Since February

There appear to be many trade barriers. Her is the full report.

    https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/files/Press/Reports/2025NTE.pdf

Has anyone here read it? I haven't. I watch CNBC occasionally and Jim Cramer has been saying for year that US gets the shaft in trade, and it needs to be improved. I can't agree or disagree but I do trust he knows what he is talking about as much as anyone. I'm not an expert and tariffs hurt my business, but I have an open mind. If we can improve trade barriers and move production from China, I'd be ok with that. I think the intent is good but it's the bull in a China shop atmosphere and keeping everyone in the dark that's got everyone worried. For good reason.

Jim Cramer is as much a financial expert as Guy Fieri is a food connoisseur. Both are entertainers on TV. Cramer should have been booted after pumping up Bear Stearns two weeks before the financial collapse in 2008.

Jeesk. Maybe they can get trump to focus on remodeling the Kennedy Center or something. He should leave the economy alone, he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Many Democrats in congress are pissed off at Trump for some reason... His good news on Tariffs should have been welcomed by all Dems, but it wasn't. I wonder why? Lol... shorting the markets during these ongoing negotiations is a bad idea... Lol.:D:):devil::devil:

Sure seems that way, there was even a leak yesterday that Trump was going to announce a 90 day pause, so the market went up, the White House denied it, the market does down…. Today, he announces a 90 day pause…. Lying about market moving news sure seems like a crime.

That is optimistic. If other countries don’t bend the knee Trump will start reimposing tariffs by Friday.

You need to be careful. But has there and honestly is there ever some good buying opportunities still.

After a tough couple days last week this week has been great. I had bought 10 TQQQ calls this morning for next Friday. Wish I held to the end of the day. But still took a nice 50% gain in a couple of hours. Did not want to lose the volatility premium and then see tomorrow all this sold back. Also took a 50% gain on the 50 CCL options I had to June that I bought last week. They were hammered until today lol...
