Ignorance is the checkers piece that Trump did not have in the first term (it's doubtful that Trump is smart enough to play chess in any sense of the word). The republican party persuaded Trump to accept cabinet members and advisors with experience and ability, who kept him from making idiotic decisions throughout his first term. Trump refused to make that "mistake" in his second term, and he has surrounded himself with inexperienced morons with no business being where they are. Musk is not an enforcer. He is a clown. He spent millions on Trump's campaign to gain influence in Trump's administration and gain billions in government contracts. He's mostly in this for the money. He has no intention of spending his billions on campaigns for people opposing the "RINO" candidates. That's for people like you to do. You better get on it, son.
Donald Trump reaches a new low in ignorance (hard to believe that was possible). He has decided that people who oppose his tariffs should be called "Panicans". That went over like a lead balloon. He says that high tariffs should have been enacted decades ago, apparently completely ignorant of the Smoot-Hawley tariffs that were enacted literally decades ago. It led to the Great Depression and World War II. For some reason, many Americans are reluctant to repeat those events. If only they could be more courageous (or moronic) like Trump, we could begin the Greatest Depression and World War III. Apparently, for Trump, history started when he got his hands on millions of dollars from his daddy. Penn/Wharton needs to ask for his diploma back. There is a diploma burning party being planned and his diploma is the star. Trumpers may need to be re-labeled Moronicans if they continue to worship this clown. Donald Trump’s New Insulting Nickname Is Mocked As A Total Dud
How many billions were subject to tariffs then vs now. Do you understand difference between a sledgehammer and a scalpel. Both draw blood.
Yes, we all remember that time that Obama flew off the handle and announced tarriffs so haphazardly that he ended up “charging” polar bear and our own military bases with “reciprocal tariffs”. Tariffs on targeted industries that we are trying to save in the US can make sense… tarriffs on every nation for every product they make is moronic.
Not going to happen. What once was the Republican Party is no longer. It’s dead and gone. This is the MAGA party. There is no platform. They don’t care about the American people as a whole. They don’t care about the Constitution. They hate democracy and free thinking and now obviously free markets. Reagan would be considered a RINO with this bunch. They are a bunch of hypocrites, liars, spoiled brats who never had to sacrifice themselves for their country. They listen to propaganda from Faux News, ignoring the fact that it is not American owned. They are too stupid to fear the truth and consequences of their own actions. Raised on “reality television”, they are truly ignorant to history and what is happening now. The comparisons to the prelude to WW II are uncanny, but they did not study history because WWE was on television. They selected and elected a gaggle of sycophants to congress and are working to install a Czar/ Dictator because they believe that he has their best interest at heart, a man who can’t relate to the average American because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth best known for his time on The Apprentice, a guy who bankrupted his own company, killed the USFL, and tried to overthrow an election. Rant over.
I have a hard time understanding why the right is so adamantly in favor of economic depressions. Why don't you explain that to me, and then I will explain the tariff thing to you.
good luck today folks: — China doing reciprocal tariffs up to 84% from 34% — US treasury sell-off. — more countries coming to table? — South Korea, Indonesia, India looking better. Cautiously optimistic that Trump gets to some off ramp with the majority of the world and has some level of certainty for multinationals. China holds the “Trump Card”: Taiwan.
Sure, the US is a big market, but China has 190 other options to soften the blow. Meanwhile, where is the US going to go for cheap foreign products after dummy put tariffs on everyone else, too… a lot of Red state Walmart shoppers are about to explode.
MAGA could be down to boiling pine cones for soup and would still talk great about their orange messiah.
Please in all your brilliance let me know what they raised tariffs on? Was it a sector? a market? a country? our enemies? our friends? everyone?...face it the guy has no plan and his end game is the 18th hole of his golf course asking you to look away while he kicks the ball in the cup after his third missed putt for a double eagle.
No one knows the off-ramp. Hard to be absolute about any of this. Wal-Mart pulled their guidance. Wal-Mart was told “no” about suppliers taking a lower margin. The higher likelihood is that Wal-Mart and all retailer shelves will be stocked with different things. That will take a long time. Maybe the Wal-Mart shopper’s preferences change significantly? One absolute… Small businesses with inventories sources from China are going to get crushed.
This is more likely to be the Golden Shower Age than the Golden Age, except this time we are all getting pissed on.. 10 year rates have spiked 60 basis points in 3 days and the equities markets are blowing up. Like I said he could shit on some of y’all’s head and you’d call it Swiss chocolate, when in reality this dumbass has absolutely no idea what he’s doing and there is no grand plan. And the answer to Bill’s question is that there is a massive difference between imposing/extebding targeted tariffs with and end goal and implementing world wide tariffs by tweet with no rhyme, reason or end game. And anyone who can’t see the difference is either wholly ignorant or a blind partisan, or both.
