Down 1, with 1:21 left…. Houston grabbed an offensive rebound, and appeared poised to reset. But Richard stripped the ball and a scramble ended with OOB to Florida.

Up 1, with :26 left… Sharp drove the ball right side. Richard reached in for a strip that bounced off Sharp knee. Gators ball, Houston forced to foul.

we were a different team defensively in the second half. When we needed stops, we got them. And yeah, that play was monsterous! Richard was due for a big game, and it came at the perfect time. His snd Clayton’s defensive plays there at the end sealed it for us. We gave Houston a taste of their own medicine.

Apropos that Golden’s first recruit was the difference maker. Love Clayton, and he is amazing, but happy to see Richard have such a great overall game and get the accolades.

True, but if Clayton would play selfish, he would have kept shooting low percentage shots. Instead he was feeding his teammates and all those assists were huge to our victory. It was a great team effort and I can't be any more proud of how we played their game and beat them at it! Go Gators!

Well said. So happy for Will, and a little sad we won’t see him, Alijah, or Walt on the court again. But what a way to go out.

One of the many things I love about this team is the different role each of our 3 senior guards play.
They each have a role, and they work together to compliment each other.
Truly team basketball- not a bunch of individuals trying to stuff a stat sheet for the next level.

It's the secret of our success.

Hitting those first half shots to keep it close when they were smothering Clayton was huge as well. There just had to be a defensive weakness with the double team strategy and he stepped up.

Richard was the difference in this game. After a quiet tourney, I'm glad he got his time to shine!
