Before the season ends one way or another in just a few hours, I want to say how grateful I am for this team. It’s been a remarkable run. So thankful we got to watch this group for the maximum number of games possible this year. Whatever happens tonight, they’re Gator legends.
Agree wholeheartedly. I’ve enjoyed this board immensely. It’s made the season more enjoyable to see the insights so many bring to our discussions.
! The worst thing about tonight is it’s the last chance to see Clayton, Richard, and Martin in a Gator uniform, and this team as a whole playing together. It honestly has been the most unexpected journey since 2006. Such a fun group of guys who play hard, have improved massively, and have put together some of the most amazing moments I’ve witnessed in Gator sports: Clayton’s current heater, the TTU and UConn comebacks, the SEC tourney run, the big wins at Auburn and Bama, Richard’s winning score at SC, Martin’s thunderous runouts, Handlogten’s return, even dropping 100 in Rupp. Just so many great moments this season. In the future, we will expect them to some degree, or at least not be surprised by them. But no one saw this coming.
Well said, and I agree 100%. Going all the way back to my first year at UF, 1994, I can honestly say I've never had more fun watching a Gator basketball team. Regardless of the outcome, this group has conducted themselves as champions. They deserve nothing but respect and admiration. Today I feel proud, and so very fortunate, to be able to root them on one more time. 'Gator Boys Stay Hot'

I love this team so much..thankful yet sad cause I will miss Clayton, Richard, Martin so much..felt like this when the O4s announced they were leaving.. Go Gators...get that NC
I had a friend who told me we were a very good basketball team about 10 games in...I chuckled...then I watched a game and damn it looked like were good...top 20 good even. As the year went on I saw these guys gel and build up momentum and better teamwork. When we kicked the Vols ass it looked like we belonged...and it snowballed from there where by the SEC tourney I thought this team will win it all...kudos to Golden for his process and being a great coach. This is our year...now lets go kick that Houston ass up and down the court.
How lucky we all are to have witnessed this season, these players, the games and the coaches. Enjoyed the banter on these boards! Thanks to all of those who post. Watching the evolution of this team was remarkable, they just kept getting better and better. No one can take away these memories. GO GATORS!
Still can’t believe we won’t see these kids play together again, but an amazing way to end it. Will always remember talking to Will Richard’s dad in a CVS in San Francisco, and him saying, “I really think they can win it all.” They did, and his son’s first half offense and elite defense in his final game were so instrumental. Gonna miss that kid.
Had a good non Gator friend who is a b ball junkie tell me late in the season Gators were gonna win it all. I laughed and am always optimistic, but in reality I would have been happy just making a Final 4. But once there might as well win it. Coming from preseason, picked 6 th in sec, not close to ap top 10, to then win the sec tourney and finally a NC is a hell of a run.
They have some damn big shoes to fill. I trust Todd will be looking for more than mere talent because we beat a lot of "talented" teams because our TEAM is a sum of its parts, not the individual capability of each part.
Yeah. Very unfortunate that a lot of them have been scooped up already. Won't complain about a deep tourney run and a title, though!
He seems to know what he's looking for. More importantly though, he seems to know what to do with them when they get here and will adjust his style to make the most out of theirs. On a nightly basis sometimes. It's fun to watch.
