Tonight I will be grilling chicken wings seasoned with coarse black pepper and original Everglades seasoning. Our side will be a freshly made Romaine salad topped with peperoncini peppers and vine ripe tomatoes.

Another wet day here with rain the first half of the day and overcast for the rest of it.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are our choices for the evening.

Tonight I am grilling brats for dinner and making jalapeno poppers for a basketball game snack. Also have corn chips and pepper jack for nachos.

And I did replenish the tequila and Cointreau supply for victory margaritas. And if we don't win tonight it will be celebratory margaritas for a great season that just fell short.

    Go Gators.

Made a mistake at the liquor store but no big deal. I came back from a funeral in way up north in Wisconsin (about an hour north of Green Bay). Wisconsin has two types of old fashions and neither are like what the rest of the country drinks. The "sweet" one uses brandy and not what I like. It is a undergrad tailgating drink if you ask me. The other uses whiskey (usually cheap Canadian like LTD or Canadian Club) and is garnished with pickled veggies like brussels sprouts, dilly green beans or mushrooms or green olives.

    I like the whiskey kind.

You muddle a sugar cube with bitters. Add 3 oz of whiskey (they like to drink way up north), add ice and finish with a lemon lime soda like 7-Up. Add the pickled veggies of your choice.

Cannot order this drink outside of Wisconsin. They don't know it.

I knew that I was out of brown liquor and bought some Old Forester Rye instead of the Canadian Club. That might make a SUPER Wisconsin whiskey old fashion. LOL.

I have some cod for dinner but my stove is currently being used to work on motorcycle brake calipers.

    What a conundrum......:emoji_thinking:

Ended up eating a can of spaghetti O's and mini-meatballs. Still hungry so cleared off the stove and had the fish too! My mistake....Haddock - not Cod!

Was OK - will stick to Cod from here on out.

    What a game, huh? :D

Weather forecast is kinda dictating our choices for supper tonight. We have a freeze warning in effect for tonight.

We are going to have grilled ham & cheese sandwiches done in the cast iron frying pan. Chips on the side.

A tumbler of Elijah Craig for myself and Ms. Jan’s sticking with her chilled wine.

How many ounces does a tumbler hold? Asking in case the volume might have crept up slightly due to certain recent developments in the squeaky shoes world...

Making pozole rojo this afternoon. And it does take all afternoon. But worth the effort.

Last night I made beef brats before going to the baseball game. We left after 6 innings because my wife and were so exhausted from staying up late on Monday watching the basketball game and then not being able to get to sleep for hours.

Managed to barely stay awake watching on ESPN2 to the end.

Missed the FSU seventh getting to our car. When McNeille came in he had a hard breaking slider with command. Did he just lose it?

Our brand new Publix opened here yesterday. Tonight we are having boiled shrimp and a garden fresh salad topped with vine ripe tomatoes and a raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are on hand for your enjoyment.

Sure, but I would say the recovery process was a well-worth trade off for watching us win the National Championship LIVE! :)

Managed to squeeze a bun-length all beef OM hot dog in today for lunch, although jaw still painfull when it opens past a certain point. I actually have to smash the bun down almost flat to get it in. Sucks and hope things get healed up soon.

Rippled potato chips and a zero-sugar Coke rounded out the meal. :)

Still eating soup every day. I tried the Marketplace creamy tomato soup yesterday and I like the Campbell's condensed better so will stick with it.

Leaving Winn Dixie this afternoon I saw 5-0 with their lights on coming through the parking lot and then another 2 units coming in from Mission Rd. They were chasing this dude who was on foot and running like crazy along the roadway in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It was killer watching it all go down. Just like the Live PD show! :) Will look for the story in the news, if it shows up. No idea what the perp did....but whatcha goin' do when they come for you! :D

Ok everybody—we tried a brand of store bought baked beans that are new to us from our new Publix this week.

This is probably old news for most of you but we were impressed. Reser’s beef sweet & spicy baked beans. Simply heat’em up and you have all the flavors of homemade.

They have several options, this is the one we tried. I do recommend them.
