One reason for lower egg prices might be because the USA started importing eggs from other countries. So what does the Trump Admin do? They increased tariffs on those countries (part of a 10% tariff increase on all countries)!! It's unbelievable, but true!!!

Egg prices are lower although I'm not sure that Trump had anything to do with the fact that egg laying hens hatched four to six months ago are now mature enough to have started laying eggs increasing the supply. On a related issue. Gas at the pump could continue to drop although it's not because of Trump's "drill baby, drill" policy but rather because he is tanking the economy and I'm not sure that producers will really be pleased when the price of crude drops below the cost of production like it did in 2020 when gas at the pump was below $2 a gallon when the economy tanked as a result of Covid lock-down.
Actually, that would be accurate. They set the tariffs based on trade deficit. If a country sends us eggs for money, that would add to the trade deficit, increasing their tariff rate.
Increased tariffs aren't because of eggs. Tariffs were increased across the board and I believe that includes countries that are selling us eggs.
