absolutely, I say it all the time - just because there's an even number of fouls called doesn't mean there was an even number of fouls committed. It's just refs saving their own butts when they do postgame audits

I didn’t have much of a problem until the last 5 minutes. They swallowed their whistle on one side of the court, letting egregious fouls against them go uncalled, and calling highly questionable (should’ve been no calls) against us. The commentators were even, well, commentating about it. We could have and should have blown that game wide open, but for some horrible calls down the stretch.

And yet, I am so proud of the team being mentally strong enough to not dwell on the no-calls and bad calls. They played basketball, even with the officiating adversity, and stayed hyper-focused. I’ve seen really talented teams fold in the face of bad officiating, but not our guys.

    I love this team!!

Barners played dirty and the refs were working hard to get a "Bruce Pearl" victory. Houston beating the world favorite Duke may change some internal dynamics of the refs to allow a "Cinderella narrative"! Go Gators!

Everyone would have to admit that Broome was officiated differently than all the other players on the court. That was intentional to make sure he was protected.

I think the crowd will affect the game and Houston will have the advantage there. But, I don’t think there’s any Cinderella here—we are both number 1 teams for a good reason.

Our media today requires a narrative. Houston has come close many times recently. We have not.

In our world today, with a plethora of trip wires (bad calls and official reviews), the "Cinderella story" is definitely still part of the chemistry and calculus that may circumnavigate this lollapalooza! Go Gators!

Does anyone know how these guys historically call games with hyper-aggressive defenses?

I think 5 of those came at the end when they intentionally fouled. It's not necessarily the number but the character of the fouls as they're called on each team - that's what appeared to be lopsided.

You meant to say against Houston!
That one time Clayton went to the hoop and got mauled by 3 Auburn defenders and nothing was called was pretty ugly!

Disagree. There is going to be a ton of orange and blue. We outnumbered the other teams yesterday. Now will the empty seats from Auburn be gobbled up by Houston fans with them being the in-state team? Maybe. But Florida Gators fans are LOUD! I don’t know if it came through on television but it sure did in the arena and to the players.

I couldn't help but notice the refs kept talking to Broome the whole game too. It was so odd

Some of that is because Broome whines every time someone breathes on him. 6’10” and acts like anyone me that touches him is committing felony battery

Love the fan support, but the ten folks near me in the UF section all thought Auburn had more fans there. Totally subjective I guess, but good to see others thought differently.
