Metrics are meaningless by the time you reach the Final Four. It all comes down to execution and a bit of luck. Who is prepared the best, executes the best, wins the game. Metrics got you here but to win it all comes down to who wants it the most.

Dan Patrick just said that he wasn't impressed with Florida. He's basing this on our last 2 games and picks Auburn "if Broome is fine".

It's just one guy, but it goes to show that you're only viewed to be as good as your last few games.

I don't begrudge that pick. I'd say he's justified in his skepticism. We won't win if we play like we have so far in the NCAAT unless AU plays worse than they have.

Metrics are indicators based on the past. The human element is the most important because that's where execution comes from. It's a lot like poker.

Yes we played a substandard game and should have lost. We were ice damn cold from our back court until the last 3 minutes and still beat a very good team. You can judge that as is but if we can win a pretty bad game then what happens if we play average or good?

Yep. There have been many papers written on this subject. It's a scientific fact. Apparently, it hold true in every sport but Golf.
