So we won the game on something I didn't think we would ever be able to do, them missing critical FTs and us making almost all of them. Those misses on 2 1-1s sealed the victory. If they hit, the game would have come down to the last possession.
I missed the game so seeing the actual last few minutes in real time (minus the commercials) versus the highlights only gave me a much better feel for the game and how close it really was.
I HATE it when playing NCAA Finals BB in FOOTBALL stadiums. Frankly, it sucks. Just another money grab, IMO. I also believe it has the potential to affect shooters. Especially from the 3. May or may not be a factor, but shooting % is a clear indicator of how a team will do in the finals. Hopefully the Gators adapt to such a setting, of course this comes into play for all the teams, but I don't like these venues one bit, it takes away from the true BB experience in my opinion.
From the L wing, Martin, Kajus, and Walt each went 1 for 1 From the top of the key, CTFG went 0-1*, Brown went 0-1, and Will went 1-1 From the R wing, Zel went 1-1. As an organization, we went 5/7 - 71.4% As a basketball team, we went 5/6 - 83.3% Our rotational players went 5/5 - still working on this math *I thought CTFG was a rightie, no?
Right? (pun intended) I don't know why I felt like i heard someone calling him a "great right handed shooter", but I am a bit cray. Looks like he does indeed shoot left handed:
Yeah I was watching that too. Very important to get the shooting background set in your mind in the final four's "Center Court" design where you're not gonna have the traditional arena backdrop. (Dating myself but I much preferred the half-stadium setups.) I mean there's plenty of examples of teams going ice cold in the final 4 since the switch over, but really you dont have to look any further than our last final four where Frazier went ice cold vs UConn.
Yep, many years ago I watched an NBA game in the Superdome. Had good seats but it was just weird. Never again.
