Until the Congress gets off their azzez and passes Trumps One Big Beautiful Bill, we're still on Bidenomics...

The stock market will come back. Right now... I might even buy some stocks.

Reading comprehension is important. The minimum duty is $25 with a tariff of 30% of the value of the goods. It's not a couple of bucks. The de minimis threshold was $800. China has been directly sending packages to Americans' homes with no duty attached under that $800 number. This has fleeced small businesses in the USA. The Chinese wait for someone to create a product, and then they copy it and make it much cheaper with slave and child labor. There are lots of Chynna lovers here. You love cheap stuff, child labor, and communists.

Seems like you could just change the de minimis threshold for China instead of taking a flamethrower to our economy.

You're not wrong. That date likely will be the peak price of the stock market for a while.

I think it’s more insidious than that. It’s a means to bully individual companies into giving Trump concessions like he did with the H1 visas last time, and like he did with the spineless law firms. It’s a domestic power play wrapped as an economic tool.

So what is the duty on a package that is worth $15? Because a duty of $25 is not 30%.

And how dare those Chinese save a consumer money! Who do they think they are selling things for a lower price?

Most small retail businesses selling “stuff” source their goods from China as well.

You are trying to conflate this with fighting against counterfeit and grey market goods, a legit role of govt, but of course your argument becomes horseshit when you realize your 100% legitimate Nike’s are about to be hit with the same 46% tariffs just like the hypothetical counterfeit.

Might be a little early. The next great bull market will probably begin following the 2026 Blue Wave in the midterm election.

Not sure if anyone remembers at this point during his first term both the economy and stock market were doing well with Trump claiming that he had fixed the fictional disastrous economy of Barack Obama. Now when he is actually tanking the economy Trump is claiming that economic problems are attributable to Bidenomics.
