Why? You hate fish, rice, and vegetables, because that's what we ate when my Haitian colleague had me over for dinner.

School shootings. They're great at preventing mass murder of American children in schools.

So they leave the borders open for decades because we need the labor (otherwise they would have closed the borders).

And the grand plan now is to:
-Reduce our labor markets with no analysis of impacts
-Use random, vibes-based metrics to calculate tariffs to bring back low paying jobs for Americans at the expense of innovation and capital markets

    Wow great ideas!

If you were arguing with facts, it would be a first.

Ok. Which one isn't a fact. Not all undocumented are here illegally. Or entering the country without authorization or overstaying a visa is a civil offense, not criminal.

Both look like facts to me. Want to disagree? Post some facts, please.

Here's the asylum page from the government site. From the link:

If you are eligible for asylum you may be permitted to remain in the United States. To apply for asylum affirmatively or defensively, file a Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal, within 1 year of your arrival to the United States. Visit our Obtaining Asylum in the United States page for more information on affirmative and defensive filings. There is no fee to apply for asylum.
And here is the latest law on overstaying a visa. It increases civil penalties, but it's still not a crime.

Fact is you are likely an illegal.
You argue for people breaking the law like it’s your job or like your life depended on it.
    Sad.

What's sad is you are arguing against my facts with nothing but conjecture and hyperbole.

This country was founded on by breaking the law. Or did the tea in Boston Harbor just magically get there? This country was also made better by law breakers such as Rosa Parks and MLK Jr.

Last, I have a US Passport. I can share it with you and prove my citizenship. Another fact I'm willing to share. What do you have to support your claims?

    Not conjecture…
You are a government loving, criminal because you aid and encourage others to break our laws.
Newsflash: this is 2025 and we aren’t living in the very old days any more.
You should also know that slavery and racism is dead.
That you don’t t know these things is borderline psycho.

So we live in a utopian society today and there is no injustice and/or no unjust laws? Is that your pathetic argument now? Because you certainly aren't arguing against my facts.

"One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. Any law that uplifts human personality is just." - MLK Jr.

I'm not arguing our immigration laws are worse than the Jim Crow laws that MLK Jr. were fighting against. But that alone doesn't make our immigration laws justified. Especially, and here are more facts coming your way, we have 8 million undocumented persons in our work force at a time with 8 million job openings, and only 6.8 million on unemployment. Trump is wrecking our economy, and these numbers will change, and last recession we had, we saw a reduction in the undocumented population by around 2 million. Which further shows why our immigration law should be about economics first and foremost.

If we have a need for immigrant labor, we should enact another Bracero Program that allows for labor supply to legally meet demand. If demand lowers, like it often does during a major recession, then allow in less immigrants.

I fail to see how a Gang of 8 style plan is unjust. It isn't a panacea that fixes every immigration problem, but it's far better than our current system, which encourages a black market of labor, and has for decades.

He didn't tell me anything. He fed me salmon, rice, and veggies. What was the purpose of your comment that you wouldn't eat food served by a Haitian person?
