    From the article above …

A study that evaluated the quality of life of 140 cancer patients who had refused, discontinued, or completed chemotherapy revealed that the quality of life of patients who refused or discontinued chemotherapy was no different than that of patients who completed treatment [10].

For those who’ve already undergone such treatments, what’s done is done and I wish them well. Others may profit from the above.

LOL, citing an article from 1991 when none of the current chemotherapies (think carpet bombing) that are commonly used were available is hilarious. Not to mention the huge advances in targeted therapies (precision bombing) that have become available the last 25 years or so.

As an oncology researcher who has worked on four approved drugs that significantly improve survival outcomes, my suggestion to the rest of you is to stop reading random message boards for medical advice. Sit down with your oncologist and family to understand the risk-benefit data on which a drug was approved and make the best decision for yourself and your families.

Because we all know your oncologist is going to encourage you to wait and see …

Improved rate of cancer survival? Statistical manipulation?

Shit man, in 1991 I was listening to tapes on my Panasonic Walkman knock-off and watching Cheers on a TV that weighed as much as a refrigerator ... It's hilarious that someone is going back 35 years to make a point about the state of current medicine.

In 2024 a young friend of mine who wasn’t even born in 1991 was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma and was told she’d be dead in months if she did not submit to treatment.

With the help of family and friends she raised $100k and was referred to the prestigious MD Anderson Center for the best treatment available.

She had consulted Johns Hopkins prior.

At MD Anderson she underwent targeted radiation therapy, chemotherapy and steroids.

She was dead in months doing nothing, I gather, for improved survival rates.

Her family related that she died in hellish fashion.

    Cancer treatments are real.

You know what "stage four" means, though, right? 30% survival rate ... sorry that happened but a 30% chance is worth the try for me...

Fair enough, but what would survival constitute and at what cost ?

15 years ago my dad did everything he could to beat advanced prostate cancer, including having radioactive material installed up his ass ... whatever the doctor said might work ... he's 85 now and loving life. I went biking with him last weekend.

I don't know what stage he was at when it was discovered. He just said the doctor called it "advanced", which means it has started to spread, I guess.

My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 39. He never smoked. He weighed 165 at the beginning of radiation therapy. When he died my mom said he probably weighed in the 90’s.

And those are 5-year survival rates. So a significant portion of the other 70% unfortunately die soon after diagnosis depending on the organs the cancer has metastasized to.

Actually exactly what my Mom’s oncologist suggested and they waited until they saw growth. Had it cut out and lived 20 more years dying at 84 from non-cancer issues.

The meds they will start me on after SBRT (not available until a decade after your 1991 article) have only been around a decade or so and doc says he’s had patients on it and doing well 5-6 years later.

You know nothing about this stuff. Sincerely hope folks reading your drivel recognize it for what it is and no one’s hurt because of your medical “expertise.”

It’s probably a toss-up as to whether bleach or chemo is more harsher …

Whether chemo or Ivermectin, it’s all Big Pharma.

I’m not convinced that we understand cancer. Seems we’re stuck on the notion that it’s the body attacking itself and so we bombard the body with harsh chemicals in the hopes the cancer will die before the patient does.
