I think the real unfortunate thing is the underlying belief that bringing jobs back via tariffs will make us better off. It will make us worse off. The jobs will be net losses in American wealth & will ultimately destroy the ability for US firms to compete on international mkts. If socialists understood economics they wouldn't be socialists. Not necessarily. That is one option for sure. Keep in mind, they could also just be blazen kleptocrats. It's either one of those or the entire outfit is compromised. I'm open to other options, but I don't see them at the moment.
