So what you are saying is that the rate is slower than it was in 2023?

The US Chamber had 8 million open jobs and 6.8 unemployed people. That is what we call...a labor shortage. But it might not last long if we go into recession.

How many former government workers are unemployed? It’s a significant number, and their absorption is going to hamper the market for quite some time.

There will be plenty of Federal workers that need jobs... people that will need private sector jobs.

Seems that way… Homeland security says they average 57,000 deportations per month… so that makes Trumps number below average…cool thread topic. “Promises made, promises forgotten.”

LOL - so if there weren't any illegal immigrants coming into the country ......
..... then this would be a net of 2 million illegals deported over the felon's four years.

Wow!! He would be on pace to deport 2 million out of an approximate total of 13-14 million. Not impressive even there weren't more coming in. (Which of course there are, and probably more than are being deported.)

    MAGA voters; conned again.

He’s at a little less than 5% of his days in office. At this pace, he’ll deport around 2.1m-2.2m during his 4 years. He has to pick up the pace to reach his purported number of 11m.

OT: As others have noted, if there is a manufacturing skilled labor shortage, than there has to be a simultaneous incentive in place for trades journeyman and apprenticeships training. It sounds like the Administration and Red States are in lock step with some of this. To be honest, Biden left a playbook on this with the IRA. In the long term (20+ years), feels like a fools errand… more things “made in America” will be done by robots and AI. This is likely even quicker within a semi-isolationist global trade policy. End of the day, people need to out-smart the machines for the jobs of the future. This will hasten a very different US manufacturing economy.

I remain convinced that we have several illegals on this board…these libbies are worried as they should be.
I think Jo is likely posting from Venezuela now.

I wonder why he’s struggling so much to do this at the same speed as past admins.

I think what we're going to have is a shortage of workers for extremely crappy low paying jobs.

Labor shortages in low-skilled jobs are a huge cause of inflation. It turns out that people need those jobs done and less people to do them raises prices and lowers consumer welfare.

Why are you wasting your time with these people? He doesn't get it. He doesn't want to get it. And he never will get it.

Remember. This is about nothing more than "owning libs". Literally nothing beyond that.

Well, from a personal standpoint….. I’m good. The roof is already on our new home in Sautee Nacoochee, GA and what little landscaping there is has been installed. Only thing left is some carpentry, flooring, electrical, and appliances. I’ve met the carpenter and electrician and I know those dang Jawja bulldogs are not fearing deportation. I think we’re safe re the flooring but not sure about delivery of the appliances.
