The Trump administration conceded in a court filing Monday that it mistakenly deported a Maryland father to El Salvador “because of an administrative error” and argued it could not return him because he’s now in Salvadoran custody.

The filing stems from a lawsuit over the removal of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who in 2019 was granted protected status by an immigration judge, prohibiting the federal government from sending him to El Salvador.

The filing, first reported by The Atlantic, appears to mark the first time the administration has admitted an error related to its recent deportation flights to El Salvador, which are now at the center of a fraught legal battle.

Color me surprised. What do you expect when MAGA applauds authoritarianism and the lack of due process?

And El Salvador can't find him now to send him back? Judges need to start putting people in jail for flat out lying to them. Maybe the next attorney state sends can tell the truth. Lock a couple dozen up and I bet they find him and get him back.

They could get him back with a phone call. They're choosing not to.

Which is why the judge should have held him in contempt for lying and locked him up on the spot

So what you're saying is that to reduce the probability that illegals will commit murders the deportation of immigrants whose only crime is being in the US illegally to a third world prison in which torture is routine or the mistaken deportation of immigrants with legal status or even US citizens all of which without any due process is justified.

I would also add that there is a rational legal alternative to immediate deportation without due process. If an migrant is suspected of being a violent criminal, detain him and deport him after he receives due process (presumably at a minimum a hearing before an immigration judge).

It would be interesting and fun to see what they would say if some of these illegally deported people were white.

This case below is interesting. Of course, they don't care.

Hopefully this woman wins a huge defamation case against the liar Noem.

Ranjini Srinivasan, the 37-year-old Indian PhD student in the US who self-deported to Canada after her student visa was revoked for allegedly being a "terror sympathizer", opened up about her ordeal today. She even said that she feels 'betrayed' by her alma mater - the renowned Columbia University.

Ms Srinivasan has been accused of being a supporter and sympathizer of Hamas - a designated terrorist organisation in the Palestinian region of Gaza. She was pursuing her doctorate in public planning, and was on the verge of completing her PhD, when the Trump administration revoked her student visa for her alleged involvement in propagating and aligning with Hamas.

....while she was still trying to understand what had happened by contacting officials at Columbia and her PhD group, agents from the United States' Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed up at her doorstep, possibly to detain her in order to deport her from the country. She didn't answer the door.

Four days later, Kristi Noem, Secretary of US' Department of Homeland Security labelled Ms Srinivasan a "terrorist sympathiser" in a post on X.

It is better for 10 guilty people go free rather than 1 innocent person be punished. MAGA's first response? They are brown people with tattoos; therefore, they must be guilty!

When this turns out to be false, next reaction is other brown people with tattoos are guilty. Better to lock them all up just to be date safe. Constitutional protections be damned.

May be somewhat off-topic, this illustrates Trump's attitude towards white immigrants.
‘Mission South Africa’: How Trump Is Offering White Afrikaners Refugee Status
Under Trump a White Afrikaner has more of an entitlement to refugee status than a Venezuelan, Nicaraguan or Cuban fleeing a repressive Marxist regime.

Crazy to see a VP of the United States so flagrantly lie to the public. But then, I guess they've seen what works for their felon boss, with his cultish followers.

Given the fact that she's lied 100 times before and JD Vance is already made a correction I think it's safe to call this post false

Can you point out what was false besides the wrong admin? Also, did you hold the previous Pres Sec to the same scrutiny? If not, then that says a lot.

Actually the fact that the original story comes from The Atlantic is probably enough to debunk it.

    I figured it out!

    JD Vance talks to angels.

He paints his eyes as black as night now.
He'll tell you he's an orphan after you meet his family.

    It all makes sense.
