We were up 36-25 at half against a great defensive team and won going away. Maybe you missed the part where I said the ‘closest’ and I don’t count games against inferior competition.
No doubt. Whichever team wins the title will have earned it. No easy paths in this year's tournament, as there have been few upsets. In the past, teams have caught breaks facing lesser teams that pulled a big upset. Not this year.
Yeah, the book's out on Klavzar and teams just won't let him square his shoulders for a clean shot anymore and he's an average defender at best, so we probably won't see much of him unless foul trouble creeps in for the guards. Condon needs to have a game like the several he had before his ankle injury. He's not been quite the same since coming back. But Haugh has really gone off and just gotten better and better. Cinyelu has to not give cheap fouls and be on the floor. He's a beast on the boards, but also needs to hit his shots at the rim.Richard & Martin need to be on, plus we have to handle the ball better and not try too many risky passes, plus not have an off game at the free throw line. I don't like that we're favored - just gives bulletin board material to Auburn. Their key is having Broome at full strength.
This is arguably the most loaded Final Four...ever. 4 of the Top 10 Ken Pom teams going back nearly 30 years...are all in this Final Four. These 4 teams were head and shoulders above the rest of the pack for the vast majority of the season. All 4 have been dominant at various points in the year. Any of the four teams has the ability to cut down the nets. It's crazy how loaded this group is.
There was probably more than a little bit of if we dont advance out of the region the season was a dissapointment. This is a similar belief some on here have mentioned along with the term wasted opportunity. With the region champion box checked hopefully they are relaxed and ready to play to their collective ability like they did blazing thru the SECT. This is truly a special team and i am enjoying the privilege of watching them play
Ha, ha. I got TWO "disagree bacon" Saturday for saying we were playing with "house money. " I think some people don't know what that saying means.
I'm interested to see what kind of game plan Golden comes up with. At this stage in the tournament coaching experience and mental toughness play a huge role. For all of Peral's issues, he has a lot of tourney experience.
My uncle sent me a post earlier showing when Martin was shooting his FTs after the almost 10 second violation, he turns to the TT player and says “Ball Game” and shoots his final FT that kisses off of the front of the rim and goes in.
Gators were clutch from the line. I sure wish Micah would work on his foul shots though. I cringe every time he goes to the line.
Agreed. Condo's ankle has another week to heal up. I don't care that he played and looked ok and that the first couple of games he looked a bit tentative. It limited him a bit defensively on Saturday. If he plays with his head on straight and a good ankle, we may just win this thing.
Kind off topic but I really doubt Broome plays, or at least won’t play any meaningful minutes. So that’ll give Condon somewhat of an extra break.
