2025 NBA Mock Draft Is the Cooper Flagg Show After NCAA Tournament Elite 8

Thomas projected as 34th pick. Of course, I don't think he has any intention of declaring for the draft. Walter projected as 29th pick. Condo projected as 46th pick.

Anyone out there have any idea of how much NIL $ would be required to retain Thomas and Condo is this crazy new environment?

And to replace the guards we’re losing, which is probably, or at least arguably, more important than the bigs.

Trust in Todd to Cherry Pick the portal for a stud or two.
Denzel coming back is huge and (I think) Klavzar may come back, I suspect his sticking around may be based on who Todd picks up out of the Portal.

Can't lose Thomas - NO WAY, time to ante up Collective!

Haugh and Condon can improve their draft position by playing one more year. I think Condon can become a lottery pick with some development, and since he has been playing the sport for only a few years, his development at this point forward should be more impressive than the usual player who has been working at it for a decade or so. Thus, his ceiling has not come close to being reached.

I also think that Haugh can improve his draft stock with another year. He is in the middle of a rapid improvement phase, which is not going to suddenly stop. If he stays, by this time next year he should be a much improved player compared to what he is showing currently. He could also move into lottery pick status.

Duke with 3 guys in top 10. To listen to the media you would think it was Flagg and a bunch of stiffs. That's an incredibly talented team.

A generational team. I think we'll look back on this Duke squad like we do the 2001 Hurricanes

How do folks think Haugh is doing with on-ball defense? Good enough at the 4? Fast enough at the 3? Room to improve?

They had a tough loss at Auburn in their NIT opener. Not sure I see the similarities, but it's all perspective, I suppose.

I think you're thinking of Kentucky, who beat Duke in November. Kansas beat them in November, too.

They beat Auburn in December and have just been on a war path since (save a mid-season sleep walk at a good Clemson).

It's a super young team filled with NBA talent and they seem to be peaking at the moment.

I'm not predicting they win it all. The '01 Canes didn't either. I'm just saying we may look back on this roster as an embarrassment of riches the way we vomit looking back at that Miami squad.

The '01 Canes, right? They blew a double-digit half-time lead at Auburn in the NIT that year.

    Go GATORS!

I assumed exiled was talking about the 01 Canes football team, but they did win it all, so now I’m all messed up.

With the NIL now it's an interesting decision - to you go drafted late 1st round / 2nd round or do you stay, develop, get NIL money then hopefully be a lottery pick? Both would have to REALLY improve to move that high up. I think the added year in college would help but would it help more than playing on an NBA, where you live and breathe basketball 24/7/365? If both love the college experience and they know they're going to play pro next year, stick around...but otherwise I think the decision is still to go to the NBA.

THAT SAID - I am pretty confident we'd all be happy as pigs in slop if they both come back next year. It is interesting that Haugh has leapfrogged Condo on the draft boards. As close friends, I wonder if there's any jealousy on Condo's side, given how well Haugh is playing and how average Condo has looked the last few games. I'm sure he's happy for him but we're all human. They both control their own destiny, so as long as they continue to improve the NBA will want them both - let's hope they continue to improve AND both come back next year. And as or more importantly, they BOTH bring their A games against Auburn. We need them both at their best, not just Tommy

Yeah, I was trying to compare historically rich rosters across sports. '01 CFB Canes v '24/'25 CBB Duke.

That's because I'm not doing well remembering stuff. It was the next year the Canes got screwed in that OSU game - or do I have that wrong, too?

The point Im failing miserable to make is I think this Duke team is more talented than many realize at the moment.

OT: I tried to type the word "condom" on my phone this afternoon and for a moment I struggled to recall how to spell it correctly. To compound the issue, my phone suggested options relating to UFMBK rather than helping me spell condom...

I got you, and I take the point. Duke appears to be loaded on top of loaded.

Hope they are compared to the 2002 Hurricanes instead.
