Their self interest is the reason for their spinelessness. In case u aren’t following, they will prostrate themselves to him out of self interest

LOL, since that scenario will be front and center for 4 years, Vance can't be too happy...

Trump and Obama can duke it out in 2028 then, who is the best and most convincing liar.

However, I am worried that Trump may need a bathroom break every 5 minutes during the debates.

Don Jr at the top of the ticket is more plausible in that scenario. The other “method” is for him to flat out run and then sue states that don’t put him on the ticket and seek a SCOTUS interpretation.

This is why I think he is trying to consolidate power for elections with his recent EO. He is trying to sue his way to determine the holes to drive a truck through the states rights on election law.

    Lawfare is in full swing.

I'm definitely a huge Trump supporter but I am against this completely.
Like @River pointed out in the tax refund for illegals blog, if there's loopholes that make this legal then has a right. I just don't see this happening especially at his age and I think most conservatives wouldn't go along with this either. But it will be fun watch you guys' bitch about for the next 3 years,

I don’t want to “find out.” I want conservatives to grow a backbone and shut down his nonsense from the start. Is that too much to ask? You honestly think this anti-constitutional rhetoric is harmless until he actually acts on it?

I would think Dems would love it if Trump can run for a 3rd term because that then means so can Obama. And Obama Vs Trump would be a bloodbath for the Right. Independents IMO would break 75-25(minimum imo) in favor of Obama. I would consider voting for Obama way before considering voting for trump.

It would indeed mean that. Does anyone truly think that consecutive versus non-consecutive terms has anything to do with it?

I hear you, but I don’t really see that on that on the list of options before us. I think the courts are going to have to constrain him, because I have little to no hope of him constraining himself.

No. Think this is all BS anyways, but the Dems should want this lol. They don't have anyone that 100% could win in 28 but Obama would beat Trump in a Reagan type victory imo.

The language of the 22nd Amendment is rather specific regarding the 2-term limit unlike Virginia where the governor is constitutionally prohibited from running for consecutive terms but can run for non-consecutive terms.

He can claim the 2024 election was stolen and therefore he hasn't legitimately served a second term yet.

I mean, our Supreme Court has three judges that Trump appointed, plus Thomas. That bench already ruled that a President has absolute immunity, something found nowhere in the Constitution. You’re making a series of assumptions above that, unimaginable 4 years ago, no longer are supportable with any degree of confidence.

Interesting point. But what makes you think that Obama would want to run again? I truly think Obama, whom I never voted for, is a sane individual, and no sane human would want to be president for more than 8 years in today’s age of instant news and information in an ever-shrinking globe

I voted for Obama twice and although I would love to have him in the White House again I wouldn't vote for him because I think two terms are enough

    Trump approval today is 50%

    Disapproval 48%

Per Rasmussen. VA relies on polls that got the 2024 presidential election wrong (which is virtually every Democrat grifter poll). If you can't poll presidential elections you can't poll approval ratings.
