What makes you think those being assisted with their returns are not working and paying taxes? You need a SS or ITIN in order to file a tax return. Immigrants paid an estimated $100B in taxes in 2024.

We know from experience that just because someone produces a tape that claims something doesn't mean it's true. But assuming it is, is the tax preparer breaking the law or does the tax code allow it? Do you know?

 

It's pointing out the need for DOGE, either way.

 

The accuracy of the original post aside, I really would like to know how it's possible to support a family with three kids on $14,000 a year. If you believe that it's possible you must be a true financial genius.

 

If it’s legal, then the rules need to be changed. And that’s not what DOGE does.
If it’s illegal, then we need the IRS to catch it. And that’s harder if you’ve fired a lot of the staff.

 

Why? If they are using legal deductions that all workers in the US get, then what’s the problem? The law requires immigrant workers to pay taxes and file tax returns. Tax preparation services help them file. There is no indication in that video that anything fraudulent or wasteful is happening, is there?
