Barkley and his unabashed cheerleading just make me hope we get the chance to beat Auburn one last time for the NC. I'd savor the onset pouting and non-stop excuse making for months to come. LOL, what a momo.:p

The Washington Post nailed it with it's headline

Texas Tech was on its way to the Final Four.
    Then Florida happened.

They were running at Clayton all night to try and get him out of his 3-point attempts. For most of the game, it worked. Except they kept fouling him.

Well, because sometimes the best team DOES lose. Not last night, though.

People are acting like we never lead in this game until the final shots. Yes, TT had a great 12 minutes or so in the 2nd half, but we had already shown we were capable of some point bursts this game.

Condon just hasn’t looked right the whole tournament. Even before he tweaked his ankle he was struggling. Not sure what’s going on but without his normal contribution, we are not going to beat auburn, Michigan state or duke.

That was interesting. I don't wonder that the other guys were surprised. Todd himself, in last night's post-game presser said essentially the same thing: He didn't expect to be here now.

He was corrected by the Villanova coach. We were mentally tougher.

Clayton was 3 of 8 from deep, saving his best for last.

    Haugh was 4 of 6!

I love Charles Barkley. He's an unabashed Auburn fan, but has been on Florida's bandwagon all along. He says what he thinks without fear or shame. What I took him to mean with his comments is that Texas Tech executed their game plan better than Florida. For most of the game they took 3 point shots away from our guards, they outfought us on their offensive boards and they slowed the game down and forced us to play a half court game. They repeatedly ran those isolation plays with their bigs and we kept failing at trying to guard them one on one. They were stronger in that respect. Both teams are extremely physical and mentally tough and while we held a 3 point halftime lead, the game was being played the way they wanted and for most of the 2nd half they pretty much dominated. To our credit, they gaver us opportunity late when they missed the front end of two 1 & 1's and we took full advantage. Haugh hit back-to-back 3's to get us close and then Clayton took over to win it. Plus our defense tightened up. The better team won, but I believe Texas Tech played the better game. We found a way to win, but we normally do it by dominating the boards and 2nd chance points. Last night it was free throws, grinding it out and then late heroics. Tons of credit to our guys, but we won't beat any of the teams left unless we play a complete 40 minute game and I would rather face Michigan State than Auburn.

It was more back and forth in the 1st half. At one point early in the 2nd half the announcers pointed out both teams held the lead for exactly the same amount of time (down to the second).

But TT actually had their biggest lead with like 3 minutes, and I believe that was the only time either team touched a double digit lead. There is no doubt we were up against it. Obviously not out of it anytime it’s single digits, but if they hit both those 1 & 1’s (instead of missing both) or a dagger 3 it could have put us away. Instead Clayton and Haugh each with a pair of unbelievably clutch 3’s to grab the game.

::babble:: I'm talking about the entire tournament - we haven't played a complete game so far, not even against Norfolk St who actually outscored us in the final 25 minutes of the game. I don't think I can handle 2 more games like this. And really, we all know we are getting to the point anything less than a complete game is going to end our season. Auburn cheered for us not because of us being in the SEC, they want a rematch.

On the flip side, I have to say kudos to the Bama band for cheering our win.

Your act has gotten so old. Every baseball and basketball thread: (1) repeat the same thing a dozen times (2) trash our program/coach (3) give the opposing coach a "mouth hug". Get some new material or better yet - hit the transfer portal.
