He’s going to be another Demarcus Cousins in the NBA. Puts up stats but is horrible on defense with little to no effort given and won’t ever be a winning player. Dude was embarrassingly lazy on defense out there tonight.

Light in substance, but props for the thread title. Let's add some pics of your side girl and all will be well. :emoji_sunglasses:

I had ZERO concerns that he would keep up with a sprinting Tommy, Reuben, Alex and Micah.
And that’s exactly how it played out.

The "He did pay us the money" line followed by the Dairy Queen nil deal kinda showed where his heads at this week. Those were good signs for the Gators

I was trying to come up for a good comp for him earlier tonight, and Cousins is about perfect. Both 6-10 about 270. Lack elite length and athleticism for defense. But both are highly skilled bigs on the offensive side.

After watching their previous game, I loved this matchup for us.

He scored more than I thought (refs pretty much helped him impose his will), no doubt he’s a talented offensive player.

I was definitely worried with Handlogten in foul trouble AND Condon having the ankle. Thought he might really go off in the 2nd half. Fortunately we cleaned up the turnovers and Condon was able to battle through to at least buy enough time so his scoring was not going to be enough.

Cousins wasn’t anywhere near as mobile or skilled. Queen reminds me more of a Zach Randolph or Julius Randle. Those guys can hurt you, but they won’t kill you.

Queen was consistently slow getting back on defense and we made him pay several times. He was gassed...

wonder why he plays in long sleeves? He will go in the first round because he has offensive skills, but at 6'10" he is likely to be a "4" and will need to shed 20 pounds and get himself in much better shape.

His weight is fine, but he needs to work on conditioning. At 6' 10", he weighs 5 lbs less than Lebron James who is an inch shorter and Lebron is chiseled.

I thought he as pretty damn good on offense. What surprised me, though, was how ineffective the rest of the team was. For a team where the scoring was consistently spread out, they basically were a 2 man threat. Our D was incredible in limiting the rest of Maryland’s starters, a feat even more impressive with Condon out most of the game.

    My pat take:

Don't ever let one player be your sole focus. If you obsess with what they can do offensively, you will likely open the game up for the other team mates. Let them score 30+. Just lock down the rest of the team and get to running and gunning.

He played "arm" defense. Surprised he didn't get a couple more whistles.

He's got the potential to be quite good in the NBA. He's still a kid and with that size and fluid athleticism - he'll be a natural scorer at the next level. Particularly if he gets a deep ball going - which he certainly seems capable of.

I wonder about his motor and his motivation, but time will tell on these two.

Queen got his points, but he was pretty much alone as the rest of the team was essentially shutdown. It's what the 04s did to Greg Oden in the NC game. Plus, there wasn't enough time to take all the steps he needed to beat us last night.
