Saw this on Reddit. Remaining teams’ record against other Sweet 16 teams. Auburn: 9-4 Florida: 7-2 Ole Miss: 6-5 Alabama: 6-6 Houston: 5-3 Michigan State: 4-0 (only undefeated) Purdue: 4-4 Kentucky: 4-6 Tennessee: 4-6 Texas Tech: 3-3 Michigan: 3-5 Arizona: 3-5 Duke: 2-1 Arkansas: 2-6 Maryland: 1-3 BYU: 1-5 Gives me comfort that Maryland has one of the worst records against the field.
Quite often the tourney is won by the team that got hot, not necessarily the team that was best throughout the season. Let's hope the Gator boys can fire up the burner.
They were 4-4 in Quad 1A games and 8-8 in Quad 1 games. We were 8-3 and 11-4 in those games. They actually had some nice wins on the road (Michigan, Illinois), but overall their level of competition—and quality wins—wasn’t close to ours. We play better against good competition, and the analytics have shown that.
Still say Dyke got its record by playing a weak schedule. A 1 seed based on reputation. ACC has proven to be another cup cake league!
