Most Democrats will not vote for him because of his Israel stance and no Republican will vote for him because he is a DEM. Who, exactly, is going to be his base?
As to Israel - then how did Fetterman and Shapiro win in PA? So they are going to vote for a Republican instead? outside of Michigan I doubt it makes much difference in swing states. His moderate and populist appeals more than makes up for a small sliver of pro Hamas democrats that would be so triggered as to not vote or waste on the likes of a Jill Stein. My bigger concern for Fetterman would be is he really up for the job - medically and mentally. But I’d take him over the current guy in a heart beat.
Pennsylvanians voted against Mehmet Oz. Fetterman just happened to be "the other candidate". If you think that his appearance of cozying up to Trump is going to win him friends in Democratic donor circles then ok, sure, he is a viable candidate. I don't believe that for one second.
well gaining favor with democratic donor circles and getting democratic votes are two different things. You may be right on that count. There is a danger rage against Trump could cause the party to shift left, which won’t be in its favor.
I've done a complete 180 on this guy. Initially, I thought he was a whack-job .... and maybe he is .... but I am now a big fan. He's definitely my favorite leftie!! Fetterman takes swipe at AOC: 'We kept our government open. Deal with it' Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., took a swipe at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in a tweet on Friday. "We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us too," the congresswoman said during speeches on Thursday. "Fight ‘harder’—a stunt that would have harmed millions and plunged us into chaos," Fetterman wrote when sharing a screenshot featuring a quotation of Ocasio-Cortez's comment. "We kept our government open. Deal with it."
His height (6'8'') will also be a slight advantage in TV appearances, commercials, and debates and will make him more electable.
Fetterman is practical, as Democrats right now can be told to go stand in the corner as Republicans hold all the cards. Listening to one of his interviews, he lays a redline if the Trump administration begins to ignore the justice system, which they are obviously doing, and aligning with Russia over our allies. Will be interesting if he changes his tune. However, from Republican town halls, where Republicans actually have the courage to stand in front of their constituents, they are being blasted for the vandal approach to making govt more efficient. This is where AOC and Sanders being proactive can help Democrats with independents and moderate Republicans.
Brilliant. Any people who attack, rape and murder defenseless civilians are off limits if they have kids. Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner? This would do well in the UN.
Fetterman sucks. He’s basically a Republican with a D next to his name and completely flip flopped on all his stances once he was elected. Dude is a fraud.
