So, on one hand you are saying there no credible investigation into the origins of Covid, and on the other hand, you are 100% convinced China did it!

Also, I already said I'm in the "don't know" camp ... which is where you should be also, if you actually believe there is not credible investigation into the origins.

I also don't find it odd that China didn't let other countries in to investigate. I mean, would Trump let Chinese scientists into Texas to get to the bottom of their Measels outbreak? Of course not. Why should China let in US scientists?

LOL. IF there was a pandemic that originated in the US and killed 7 million plus worldwide, if you don't think the rest of the world would be all over the US about having a full investigation then I can't help you. Also, since you are in the "don't know" camp, why did 27 "scientists" publish a statement in Lancet condemning "conspiracy theories that covid doesn't have a natural origin"? Why would those "scientists" do that at the time? Any incentive? See, it's funny to see you and others dismiss this as no big deal. When people are flat out lying and that's exactly what those "scientists" were doing, it raises red flags for me. For you I guess that's ok.

COVID lab leak theory resurfaces after controversial new study

That same month, the medical journal The Lancet published a statement signed by 27 scientists rejecting the theory, which expressed "solidarity with all scientists and health professionals in China". It added: "We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin."

In 2024, a survey of virologists and epidemiologists worldwide found that 77% believe Covid was natural… it’s a common conclusion among the people who work in that field. It probably largely based on what i posted in #169 which you seem to have no answer for… scientists think it would be impossible to fabricate Covid without leaving a footprint…. Do you have an explanation for that?

LOL. Yeah, forgive me if I don't believe the "scientists" like the 27 ones who made a determination before seeing any conclusive data. But you keep thinking covid came from a wet market and not from the Corona Virus lab in Wuhan.

Zoonotic viruses (virus that can be transmitted from animal to human) aren't uncommon. It's estimated about 60% of all human illness is caused by something zoonotic, including bacteria and viruses. This paper, published four years before COVID-19, details zoonotic viruses and their dangers to humans.

We also have DNA analysis of COVID. And nothing in COVID-19 suggests the virus was man-made. It does suggest, however, the virus started in the wet market according to a study finished last year. Had COVID-19 bee man made, we would have seen the genetic markers in the virus that simply don't exist. Either this, or as suggested, the Chinese are so far advanced with virology that they can make their own viruses without known genetic markers. But that's unlikely.

It's also possible the virus started in the lab, but wasn't man-made. Read the first paper, and whenever humans and animals interact, there is a chance of a zoonotic virus. Chances of a novel virus increases when humans interact with animals they normally have contact with.

So that a “no, I can’t explain how China hid a genetic modification footprint”, then, right?

    Y'all keep going...

Show of hands, who knows exactly what happened beause they were there Day 1 at ground zero of the outbreak?

Not a damn one of ya. Yet some of you sound like you'd put your house on your opinion. Too much energy being invested here in something you cannot and willnot ever know the truth to 100%.

LOL. Sure, if China was innocent they would let us and the world inspect the Wuhan Lab. But they won't. You see nothing here. Head in the sand I see. When we have not only China but "scientists" involved with the lab saying it's crazy to think covid might have come from the lab then yes, my first thought is they are lying. It's like if I had nothing to hide, I'd talk to the police where as if I had something to hide I wouldn't. Simple as that.

I’ll take a crack at it. It began with the excited tweets from an eye doctor, Li Wenliang, in December 2019. He was alarmed about a batch of what he thought was atypical pneumonia in one of the most polluted cities on the planet. It went downhill from there. It started with an excited eye doctor.

The almost universal belief in contagion is the overarching human failure here. 2020 was nothing more than the belief that human beings are deadly disease vectors, this fervent belief fanned into flames.

If a bunch of Chinese people strongly believe that Covid was a US bio weapon unleashed in China by the US army (as many do claim), then should we welcome the Chinese into out US biolabs to “inspect” them until they are content it’s not true? I mean, it goes both ways, right? I would support allowing China to inspect our military bio labs if they allow the same….

It seems to me the first step is showing that Covid is even possibly man made… let me know when that happens.

What you just said makes zero sense. Pro tip: If you have to make up a claim to counter an argument, then you've already lost...

I didn't make anything up. Chinese social media and even some Chinese officials say Covid was a US bioweapon released on China. It has the same amount of "proof" as your counter conspiracy theory. Do you support allowing China to inspect our bio weapon labs to investigate their own conspiracy theories?

So by your hilarious logic anything anyone says could be true so we need to investigate it. Got it. Thanks for confirming you don't have a good argument.

I’m here to settle the debate. Ready ? Here goes

It was manmade. What was manmade? The notion that there was a virus, whether occurring in nature or manufactured in a lab.

IMO, the only meaningful question is whether a ‘scare’ was PLANNED in order to bring the populace to its knees and pave the way for ‘One World Government’ or whether the jarring event of 2020ff was a FEAR-EXCITEMENT phenomenon.

PLANNED ? I still need to be coaxed into believing this. For starters, why ?

FEAR-EXCITEMENT runs the gamut from “We’d better get ahead of this lest our reputations be sullied or careers ruined!” to … well, you can imagine how excited epidemiologists (and people in general) would be to be living in the time of the “Pandemic of the Century.”

Conspiracy theorists are people who believe that a potentially deadly pathogen emerged in Wuhan, whether by pangolin or from lab, crossed the oceans in December of 2019, burrowed in, like a sleeper cell, awaiting - months - for the WHO to announce, in March, that it was okay to blow up NYC and Bergamo while leaving most of countries and regions untouched.

You must be pretty dense to not realize I was, and now you are too, making fun of your own argument... "I'd always talk to the police if I'm innocent" ... Remember saying that like 10 posts ago?

If ‘Covid’ was a cynical ploy, on the part of China, to bring the world to its knees, why was China the last country to open up ?

Swing and a miss Skippy. It's ok, you think it's perfectly normal for 27 "scientists" that came out vehemently against the lab leak theory in Feb of 2020. First off, how would they know definitely that soon? If that doesn't raise your BS meter, than you are actively partaking in the BS. I find it hilarious that you were wrong on almost everything covid yet you think you are right on this issue. Too funny...
