Shoutout to Rserina……I was bullish on Clayton being able to put in the work on improving his handle during the offseason but Rserina was pretty well dead-on about everything!

Holding on to Handlogten, Condon, Hough and Chinyelu for next year would be epic.

Add in Alexis, Micic and Rioux and we probably have the tallest team ever assembled. Too many bigs, though. Something has to give.

As long as we hold on to Golden, I’m not worried.

Except our pace (slower than last year!) and Alexis starting, haha. But thanks.

I think it could happen. Condon might be able to go to the NBA but I think his friendship with Haugh is gonna play a big part on him staying. Especially in the NIL era.

We'd all love to think that's true! He seems to really be enjoying his time and he could definitely improve his stock by staying and improving his post game/touch, FT%, 3PT%, and gaining even more weight / strength.

    There's a big difference between being a 5th pick ($14M over 2 years) v the 25th pick ($5M over 2).

I also worry his ankle injury will effect his decision making.

Let’s not forget about distance being a factor. Gainesville is a lot closer to Australia than Minnesota is. One assumes.

Dammit. Well at least Gainesville has more Outback Steakhouses. One assumes.

PS Nobody try to confirm that!!

I am a big fan of one of their national dishes, the "kookaburra wings" and their famous dessert "the chocolate thunder from down under"

I think it’d be safe to say the weather in Gainesville, especially the winters, are far more enjoyable and more similar to that in Australia than in Minnesota ;)

Replacing Clayton, Richard & Martin will be a difficult task, IMO. I've got to think Aberdeen will start next year, with Klavzar and Brown having good opportunities to earn starting roles. C J Ingram and Alex Lloyd are both 4 star guards who are coming in as freshmen, too, and it will interesting to see if either of them are D1 ready. We, also, have Kublickas, Josefsburg and Pazmino as guards on the current roster, but it's obvious we need to get a couple of proven starters from the portal. But having all the high quality bigs on our roster is definitely a huge plus in building next year's team.

Yes and adding 1-2 guards and 1-2 wings in the portal. I wonder if and how much easier it will be this year for Golden and Co to get top portal transfers, especially if we retain our core frontcourt players plus Aberdeen, Brown and Urban

I just look back to how difficult we thought it would be to replace last year’s key departures and Golden worked his magic…i would think he’d have even more cred this year on the recruiting trail

If both stay next year, both are going to the NBA after. Haugh has a complete skillset plus all the intangibles. Condo has it all but could use a bit more size, a bit more polish around the rim and better FT and mid range - but he’s definitely on his way

i think if we make the Final Four and Condo has a great tournament, that might be enough to catapult him into the top 15-20. If he does, it really would make sense to go drafted. You never know what the future brings. Imagine any of us turning down millions of dollars to go back to college.

Completely agree. I don’t see either making it to their senior year. Condon is really good and likely could leave and either get on somewhere in the NBA or play in Europe after this season which is why I put in the NIL factor for it. He doesn’t NEEEEED to do it because right now and especially if he comes back he’ll have some money in the bank.

But I also don’t discount the friendship of Haugh. This team all year has been a team about not being selfish. That can carry over to personal lives as well. It COULD pave a way to where Condon doesn’t want to leave his best friend behind in college while he turns pro. They have a pretty symbiotic relationship with each other at the moment and to some people, that matters.
